A Sure Hope

The Holy Spirit will instill in us the mission which the Lord wants us to take on for His Kingdom. The task will be impossible, but through our submission to the Holy Spirit, we'll find the strength and ability to accomplish it. Pastor Dave challenges us today to seek and accept guidance from the Holy Spirit.

Those who aren't seeking the Lord now are at risk of missing the opportunity to find Him. Pastor Dave teaches us today that Jesus and the salvation which He offers will only be available for so long. You probably read your bible daily, prayed daily, and couldn't wait to share the love of Jesus with someone because you were so committed to Him! Maybe that is still you, today Pastor Dave invites you to reignite that fire and commitment.

Pastor Dave challenges us to develop a strong knowledge of God's Word today. By knowing what the Bible says, and the context in which it says it, we'll begin to develop a Biblical world view. This lets us interact with the world in the manner which Jesus would have, allowing us to be great servants of Christ.

Pastor Dave issues a challenge to us in today's message – are we willing to take the Bible, the WHOLE Bible, and believe that it's completely inspired by God? This can be hard when we come to difficult passages, but it's necessary for us to know and also fully believe God! Everything we read has been given by our Creator!

Sometimes we like to pick and choose the passages of Scripture that we apply to our lives, or that we cling to as promises. In today's message, though, Pastor Dave reminds us that ALL we read in the Scripture is meant to be part of our Christian walk! We need to accept the difficult right along with the good!

The church we attend doesn't need to have all the latest bells and whistles, or the biggest buildings and congregations. It needs to have Jesus! Pastor Dave will share today that Jesus is the glue that binds all of us together, making us stronger and united to accomplish His work and spread the hope of His love!

Today's message urges unity in the church, and in our lives as followers of Christ. Pastor Dave will share that unity doesn't come easily – in fact, it's hard work! People of differing opinions will make coming to common ground difficult, but it's necessary for us to form a bond over the basic truths of the Gospel!

Pastor Dave will talk with us about end times in today's message. He warns us not to let the world distract us from Jesus return, and not to build our own kingdom in place of God's. Our goal on this earth is to share the Gospel with as many people as we can, and follow Jesus wherever He will lead us in our time here!

It would be nice if we could still walk and talk with Jesus, but as Pastor Dave will share today, it was important for our Savior to return to His Heavenly home. Jesus had to take His seat on the throne, and we needed to know and live under the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus will come back, and we'll see Him face to face!

Our perspective on our day can change when we focus not on ourselves, but on what God can do in and through us. Pastor Dave encourages all of us today to take hold of the power of the Holy Spirit as soon as we wake up in the morning, asking Him to do show us how we can make an impact for God's Kingdom!

We need to know how the Holy Spirit works in our lives and how Jesus saves us from sin in order to be able to share it with others!

The Holy Spirit helps us know good from bad, right from wrong, and fills us with an eager anticipation of the return of Jesus! Pastor Dave shares today that we need to give that same hope to others while we still can!

There's a lot we can focus on in this world. Much of it is good and helps others, but should it be our top priority? The members of the first church didn't have any of the conveniences we have today, including people to base their way of doing faith off of. In fact, they only had the life of Jesus to model! Pastor Dave tells us today that this was enough for the early church to not only survive, but to change the world in the process!

Christianity is unlike any other religion in the world, and Pastor Dave will share today that it has to do with the fruit of our beliefs. Following Jesus – the risen and living Savior of our souls – compels us to do things! We've been given grace and new life, and we want to bless others with the hope of the same!

Believing in Jesus and telling others about Him is a part of our Christian faith. However, Pastor Dave tells us today that it isn't the only part! We need to live out the message we're sharing with others. Our daily lives should be filled with love as Jesus loved, and be a walking testimony to the grace that changes everything!

Pastor Dave encourages you to place Jesus as your master and warns you that anything other then Jesus will let you down. Commit yourself to serving Jesus and you'll find true balance.

Pastor Dave challenges you to define what is taking the role of God in your life. Is it work, a relationship, or the pursuit of happiness? None of these things are bad, but if they're placed above God they'll eventually let you down. Instead of these things, place Jesus as the priority of your life.
