A Sure Hope

A disciple of Jesus follows the ways and character of Jesus. Each day ask yourself “In what ways can I be more like Jesus?” Then, go model it.

Never underestimate the amount of compassion God has for you! Pastor Dave encourages you to remember the level of compassion the Lord has for you to the point that He was willing to die on the cross. God will always have a deep love and compassion for you no matter where you find yourself in this season.

The Lord foreknew you, He fashioned you within your Mother’s womb. He knows every detail about you and the life He has in store for you. You are His beloved.

In the midst of a rocky political season, may we remember to put down our pride, put up our banner of Jesus, and be willing to do the things He has in mind for us to do.

Today, Pastor Dave touches on things being imprinted onto your heart, so that it’s permanently engraved into the fibers of who you are and how you live.

It’s natural to desire compliments from others for a job well done. But when it comes to serving God, your source of validation should come straight from the One you’re doing it for, not for the people in the periphery. Today, Pastor Dave says to make sure your motivations are for God’s purposes, not your own.

Candles are one of those things that bring warmth to a room. They’re homey and comforting, in some ways. But their purpose is to bring light and eventually, they burn out, having expended themselves. Today, Pastor Dave talks about having a similar effect on the world, like John the Baptist. Be a light, and give your all for Jesus!

Popeye ate spinach and all of a sudden, he was strong, with big muscles! Today, why not visualize the Holy Spirit in a similar way in your life? Pastor Dave mentions in his message that the Holy Spirit in your life is like having spiritual muscles that God’s built into you, as you choose to live for Him, and let Him work through you.

There’s a stubbornness in each of us, insisting that we do things our own way. But do you ever stop and realize that maybe your way isn’t the best way? Today, Pastor Dave includes himself in this struggle between following self and following God. There’s a better way, and Jesus knows exactly what that should be, so follow Him!
