A Sure Hope

Today, Pastor Dave mentions how there are lies that are fed to you that are simply untrue. What’s important is that you fix your eyes on what God says about Jesus and what He’s done.

Most influential people are considered by some as crazy and by others as extraordinary people who could do what most others couldn’t. Well, what do you believe about Jesus? Today, Pastor Dave asks you to believe and trust that Jesus is who He says He is and to take Him at His Word.

A new dad holds his son in his arms, being gentle with him. A dad of a young boy protects his son from going into the street, where a car is rushing by. A father of a grown man looks out for his son by leaving an inheritance for him. Well today, Pastor Dave talks about God being a loving and caring Father.

No matter what you claim, we all have expectations. What’s dangerous, is when we project those expectations onto a God who is beyond our understanding. Many people project their own emotions onto God. Since we have to earn one another’s trust and love, we think we have to do the same for God. Don’t get so caught up in your own despair and misfortune that you can’t see all that God desires for you and wants you to be.

Some people get thrown off by all the supernatural and “weird” things that are in the Bible. You’re called to know scripture and discern what is from God and what isn’t.

Do you ever struggle with skepticism? In the grand scheme of things, it’s one of the best struggles you can have. But Pastor Dave reminds us today that FAITH is what saves us. Ask your questions, search for answers, but at the end of the day, Jesus’ words and promises should be enough for each and every one of us.

Pastor Dave reminds us today that we should engage in our relationship with Jesus not simply for what He can do, but for what He HAS DONE for you.

How many of us know what it’s like to love unconditionally? Even with spouses or children, we love them for who they are despite their flaws, not in spite of them. Pastor Dave reminds us today that even though Jesus knows every little thing about you, even though He knows your shortcomings and flaws, He loves you.

Are you somebody who likes to dwell in your misery and mistakes? Sometimes it feels like you need to just settle in because it won’t change. But Pastor Dave reminds us today that God forgets our sins as far as the east is from the west. Why do you beat yourself up when the creator of the world wants you to simply move along?

Whenever you’re feeling alone, remember that Jesus can relate to all the anxiety and weariness that you feel today.

The first is one of repentance, accepting the mistakes you've made and calling on Jesus for forgiveness. The other is one full of anger, pointing accusing fingers of blame. These two individuals ended up in two very different places. Which response will you have?

Salvation is a choice. When you choose not to accept Christ, you bring condemnation upon yourself. The Lord wants all to come to Him, but He will not force anyone into a relationship with Him. In Pastor Dave's message today, he asks, 'will you willfully remain in condemnation, or accept Christ as your Savior?'

As a Christian, do you feel trapped? Is your sin weighing you down, and no amount of good works has taken away your guilt? Your true purpose in life is not revealed until you have died to your fleshly desires. When you accept Christ, you begin to live in the Spirit.
