A Sure Hope

Just because you don’t recognize or believe, that doesn’t mean Jesus isn’t real or isn’t who He says He is. In John 7:37 Jesus says, “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters.” In today’s message, Pastor Dave will explain that we’re incomplete without Jesus because we were made to be with Him. For this reason, our bodies crave the living water that Jesus offers. When was the last time you drank from Him?

The Bible tells us that life is vapor…you’re given today and then tomorrow it’s gone. And even then, tomorrow is not promised. As you listen to Pastor Dave’s message today, take some time to evaluate your life. Ask yourself the tough questions. Are you wasting your days doing meaningless things? Life is a gift, don’t waste it.

Have you surrendered yourself to Him? If not, spend time at the feet of Jesus today and begin living fully in Him for He is good.

In today’s message, Pastor Dave will remind you that no one can change what God has planned. So rather than fight Him, why not surrender and trust that His ways are better?

God’s not interested in how you look or how smart you are. What God looks at is your heart. Our wisdom is pitiful compared to God’s. Yet, so often, we expect Him to conform to our reason and knowledge. If His will stretches outside of those bounds, our first reaction is to question its validity. Today, Pastor Dave will challenge us to submit our hearts and minds fully to God and His infinite wisdom.

God’s will can never be taken into your own hands. You have to humble yourself and submit to His power and guidance if you want to be successful in living out His mission for you. Sometimes when God calls us to act, it can feel crazy. In fact, most of the time, it feels crazy. The world around you will confirm that. They’ll laugh at you. They might do worse. But as Pastor Dave will illustrate today, when God speaks to your heart – don’t hesitate – just obey and prepare for the great things He’ll do through you.

Truth isn’t flexible or subjective. The ultimate truth we cling to is that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and He died and rose again to secure our redemption. He is Truth. As Pastor Dave will warn in today’s message, that message will earn you ridicule and rejection at the hands of men, but it bears great eternal rewards.

If you picture a shadow, it has two distinct regions – the darkness and the light. That offers a fitting metaphor for what Jesus did. The cross represented our sin, which casts our souls in darkness. But, as we’ll be reminded by Pastor Dave’s today, Christ brings light to darkness and offers righteousness to those who trust in Him.

Patience is key in the life of every believer. We live in this world for only a short period of time, and we’ve become accustomed to getting things when we want them. As Pastor Dave will point out in today’s message, while it can be extremely hard to wait on God’s timing, His timing and answers are perfect.

Judas likely believed Jesus was the Messiah. But the problem was, he wanted something very different from the Messiah than what Jesus came to offer. He wanted political power, wealth, and status. As Pastor Dave will warn us in today’s message, we need to be careful that our hearts are truly faithful to Jesus and His mission.

If you’ve ever had a friend or family member, then you’ve experienced betrayal on some level. You’ve probably been guilty of it as well. Today, Pastor Dave will remind us that we’re not alone. Jesus experienced the ultimate betrayal at the hands of Judas – the covert defector whose heart never truly followed Him.
