A Sure Hope

When something difficult comes up, it can be hard to follow through with what you committed to. Today, Pastor Dave says Jesus knew all the pain and suffering that would happen when He went to the cross and yet He still went through with it. Why would Jesus do that? It’s simply this, it’s because He loves you.

Can we all agree that this life is hard? We often have different trials come up. Will I have my job tomorrow? Will my loved one be freed from this disease? Will I pass my exam? Today, Pastor Dave says in a trial you must remind yourself that this life is temporary. If you have belief in God, you’re promised eternity with Him.

When we play outside in the mud, we’re only clean if we have something to clean us. In today’s message, Pastor Dave says God sent Jesus so we can be cleaned of our sins. Jesus has brought freedom to you. You aren’t stained by your sin anymore because Jesus’s blood on the cross has set you free.

Sometimes, this world can make us feel hopeless. We can feel like there’s no winning because of all the injustice around us. In today’s message, Pastor Dave says there’s a future for those who follow Jesus and believe. If you believe, you’ll be taken up in glory through the rapture and brought into the kingdom of God.

Apologetics relies on human logic to try to prove the truth of Scripture. It’s a useful tool, but it falls short in a critical way. This is crucial to our faith. It’s been declared in creeds and is at the heart of what Scripture reveals: Jesus was and is the Son of God. He wasn’t just a wise teacher or even a miracle worker. He was fully divine and as Pastor Dave will remind us today, He took on human flesh to bear our sin and free us from its oppression.

When we stumble into sin, Satan immediately begins an onslaught of shame. He convinces us that there’s no hope and God could never love us. As Pastor Dave will remind us in today’s message, God loved us and sent Jesus while we were still in sin, and He anxiously waits for us to come running back to Him.

God doesn’t care about your religion or your religious practices – He cares about you and the state of your heart. He doesn’t expect perfection, because He knows exactly what sin’s done to you. As Pastor Dave will explain in today’s message, only God can restore your heart and make it new through Jesus’ sacrifice.

Religion is focused on what you can do to earn God’s favor. This can easily be manipulated by religious leaders for self-serving purposes. As Pastor Dave will explain in today’s message, when you enter into relationship with God through Jesus, the focus isn’t on what you do, but on what He’s already done.
