A Mild Curiosity in a Junkyard

We said we’d be back, and we are, albeit briefly. This time we’re watching the newly released animated version of The Celestial Toymaker, with our usual digressions. And you never know, we may be back again…

It’s the last podcast! Well, for a while anyway. So, we make a return trip to Atlantis for the animated version of The Underwater Menace. What better way to start a hiatus than with Professor Zaroff!

It’s the very, very end of the festive season, so on Twelfth Night, please join us as we watch Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150AD! The legend that is Bernard Cribbins helps foil the Daleks’ dastardly plan this time.

Back in time this week, to Perivale in 1883. There are very strange goings on in Gabriel Chase, things that the Doctor knows will have an impact on Ace in the future. And she’s not best pleased when she finds out where she is…. (And I did say ‘it’ in part 3 - apologies Alex!)

It’s a trip to Earth as the Doctor answers a distress signal. He and Ace encounter knights, magic and monsters and the Doctor meets an old friend who never really can retire.

As we approach the 60th anniversary, here’s the story that aired on the show’s 25th. Cybermen, skinheads and Nazis - oh my! And just who *is* the Doctor?

We’re getting near the end of the Classic series, but don’t be sad, be happy! If you’re not, you might end up performing at the forum, or even worse, in the Kandy Kitchen. Wicked!

It’s the 25th season, and what better way to begin than by heading back to 1963 and a battle with the Daleks! The Doctor’s mysterious past is hinted at, and Ace gets a very useful upgrade to her baseball bat.

This week, we say goodbye to Mel and hello to Ace, as we travel to Iceworld and meet the sinister Kane. Don’t mess with those cans of deodorant though - that’s Nitro 9!

This week we’re heading back to Wales in 1959, where the last of her race is hiding from the vicious Bannermen. We’ve got CIA agents, a bunch of alien tourists and a beekeeper for good measure.

The Doctor is fully himself again, and Mel wants to visit Paradise Towers. Surely that must be a lovely place? I mean there’s Kangs, cannibalistic old ladies, rule-abiding caretakers and murderous cleaning machines. Sounds delightful!

The 7th Doctor’s era begins, which is special for me as he was *my* Doctor. And we begin with a reappearance of his old enemy, the Rani, who decides to pretend to be Mel. After causing him to regenerate. What a start!

Well, this is it - the end of the trial and the end of the Sixth Doctor’s era. Some old faces pop up to help (or hinder) the Doctor, and he finds out that you really are your own worst enemy.

As the trial continues, we journey into the future and meet Mel, the Doctor’s new companion. A web of mayhem and intrigue unfolds as we encounter the Terror…of the Vervoids.

The trial continues, and this time we take a trip into the Doctor’s recent past. Sil appears once again (and doesn’t Alex love that!) and we also get the one, the only…BRIAN BLESSED!

The Doctor’s been taken out of time and put on trial by his own people. Where’s Peri? Who is the Valeyard? What is the mystery of the planet Ravolox? And what are the rogues Glitz and Dibber really up to?
