April 14, 2024 - Life with Jesus Part 1 Today we begin our series through 1 John and in the first few verses we are told what the foundation of the Christian life is- and that is fellowship with God and fellowship with others.

In John 21, Peter encounters Jesus, now risen from the grave, for the first time after denying him three times. If there is anyone Jesus could have given up on it was Peter. At the most difficult time in Jesus' life, Peter abandons Him. Following these events, Peter meets Jesus on the beach and cooks him breakfast and their conversation is life-changing.

In John 20, the first witness to the resurrection was Mary Magdalene, a committed follower of Jesus who at first didn't recognize Jesus. It was when Jesus called her name, that in that instant she knew it was her Savior. The resurrection is all at once for one person and the whole world!

What happens when man's kingdom collides with God's kingdom? This is made visible in the story of the cross in John 18-19, when Jesus is crucified as the King of the Jews. Man's way to power is not God's way to power. Man's view of the cross is not God's view of the cross.

John 11. Jesus brings Lazarus back from the dead as his sisters both have their own encounter with Jesus. This story shows us that Jesus, the Son of God, intentionally waits to show us that He and He alone has the power and authority over death. Jesus' power is greater than death because He is the resurrection and the life.

Today's teaching is from John 9 where Jesus sees a man born blind and heals him on the Sabbath by putting mud in his eyes. In this talk we dive in to what it actually costs to follow Jesus.

Teaching from John 5:1-18 by John Varghese. Jesus meets a man who had been disabled for 38 years and heals him. In the midst of this healing, Jesus causes a quite a disruption after healing on the sabbath and this man does not seem to see Jesus as his Savior even after experiencing this miracle. What you can't miss is that "help comes when we realize we are helpless."

Jesus meets a woman at the well and all of her life is put out on the open, yet in that she finds freedom and realizes that Jesus is the only one who will ever satisfy her every need.
