Dario Argento's films don't make a lot of logical sense, but they are so well-crafted and creative, with such beautiful imagery, that we'll overlook all that for style over substance. We both enjoyed this surreal and stunning tale about a psychic girl and her special insect friends.

Jordan Peele made a surprising turn from comedy to horror with this surprise hit that pushed all the right buttons. It's a suspenseful, timely, well-made, and absolutely chilling story of a black man who goes to meet his white girlfriend's family for the first time.

Better late than never! We kick off 2018 with a brief look back and Christmas with the EXCELLENT and supremely overlooked A Christmas Horror Story - starring William Shatner, among others!

In keeping with our holiday-ish theme, we went with a film that, although it technically takes place during Easter, should still put you in a holiday mood with all the snow, sweaters, and celebration. Child's Play is a classic, and one of the longest running movie series of all time. We revisit this classic from 1988 starring Chris Sarandon.

Take a high-school sex comedy, mix it with a modern zombie flick, and you'll get Scout's Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, a request from loyal listener and previous guest Jordyn. Sorry we were a little slow getting it out this week.

Rounding out Request Month comes a suggestion from Nick Sible about a killer rat.

Loyal listener Manuel requested this week's topic - another Roger Corman classic that also happens to be Francis Ford Coppola's first "legitimate" feature film. Filmed in 9 days for about $40,000, this film is not without its flaws, but really, what more can you expect?

This year, we scraped up this little-known flick with a mostly-unknown cast that happens to include Amanda Plummer. How she ended up in this turkey, we have no idea. The reviews online are kinder to this film than we ended up being. But you know Craig will give it a pass anyway.

Umberto Lenzi died about a week ago. We pay tribute to his memory the way we tend to do on this show. That is, we review his most notorious film. We didn't say it was his BEST film. We said it was his most notorious. Here, from the man who originated the short-lived cannibal "genre" of trash cinema, is Cannibal Ferox.

Based on the novel by Ray Bradbury, from a script from Ray Bradbury, this was a bit of a dark turn for Disney at the time. We both love this film and we think you will too.

The poster art alone is scary enough. There may not be the scariest movie behind it, but it's high camp 80's schlock and it takes place during a Halloween party in a possessed (not haunted - know the difference!) house, so it may just be what the doctor ordered for you this season. Give it a listen and see if you agree with our assessment of this cult classic.

Terrible acting, nonsensical plot, blatant ripoffs of much better films, and some brother-on-sister action are just a few of the things that makes this the must-watch film of the Halloween season. There's no better film to kick off our 2017 Halloween series. Enjoy!

Regardless of what you think of Victor Salva, we have to admit that he makes some very entertaining films.

Tobe Hooper died a couple weeks ago at the age of 74. He left behind a crazy assortment of horror films, not the least of which was the infamous and groundbreaking The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This is our tribute to his legacy.

Suffice to say that we found the conclusion even more disappointing than we remembered it being.

There's another remake on the horizon. So we thought we'd pay tribute to Stephen King's magnum opus, "It", by looking back at the TV miniseries that scared a generation of kids and adults, while putting clowns around the world out of work.

This week we go back to the classics. The quality of this surreal French film stunned us both - even Craig, who admits he is not usually as interested in "the oldies".

We both love horror anthology pics, but we ended up a bit divided on this one overall. Have a listen to find out why.

Well, it's a practical effects extravaganza. You get double the storyline for your money. There's a host of zany characters. When you have three credited directors, what could possibly be wrong? Before you check this one out, let our podcast prepare you for all the time you will wast....er, spend watching this "night of unrelenting terror".

Clint Howard, Ron Howard's less attractive younger brother, began a long career in horror movies with this "high tech" fright flick from the 80's. It's a male version of Carrie with a lot of dumb elements, but it was fun to laugh at.

Not to be confused with the far better film "Trick R Treat," this heavy metal horror film may not be the best VHS tape on the shelf, but it sings with 80s charm - a throwback to a time when horror didn't take itself so seriously. And in addition to a decent soundtrack, there are also a couple cool cameos of a young Gene Simmons and Ozzy Osborne.
