The Graveyard Shift Horror Podcast

80 Years ago this very night, a nation was riveted with news of an occurring alien invasion..... or so they thought. Since they tuned into the middle of the Mercury Theater on the Air, playing their dramatization of H.G Wells The War of the Worlds. Though announced properly, many people then were into the habit of channel surfing when their shows went to commercial, and so the show in progress was...

It’s nearly Halloween and we wanted to do something a little different (and did we ever do something different). We watched the 1970’s kids monster themed variety show, The Hilarious House Of Frightenstein! Sheldon used to watch this in rerun form in the 80’s but it was a new experience for Mike. Was it actually a good show or is it just a case of nostalgia? Listen to find out. Also, it has Vincen...

This week we take on the black sheep of the Halloween movie franchise when we watched Halloween III: Season Of The Witch (1982). Join us to hear our thoughts. We are hosted at Captivate where you can t...

Hey horror fans, the hiatus is over. We have returned just in time after dealing with threats to our personal well being in real life... With sex playing a major part in horror films, you know that we had to make the 69th episode very special. What better way to honor a sexually co-opted number than with the first English speaking movie to feature hot lesbian vampires? The Vampire Lovers (1970), f...

Does something smell fishy? It must be this week’s movie , The Host (2006). Video games make the best film adaptions as proven with Silent Hill (2006). A Canadian-French (not French-Canadian) film loosely based on the Konami horror video game series comes with a strange mix of unforgivable deviations, and faithful adherence to the source material that has us split in the middle. From amazing music and scenery to unforgivable run times and deplorable dialog, we love this m...

That Thing You Do is done because this week we watched The Thing (2011). It's the movie that makes you ask the question "Why would anyone make a prequel to a classic horror movie and give it the same name?".
