Diary of a Writer
People are fascinated with the idea of writing. So many people say, 'I want to write a novel,' but so few actually know what's entailed. The Diary of a Writer is an inside look at the life of a full-time writer, who's been writing for over a decade and actively publishing stories over that time. Messy, chaotic, vulnerable and exhausting, the Diary of a Writer, should not be read by the feint hearted. Ink will be spilt; fingers shall crack; pages will go missing.

Send in a question about writing you'd like to see answered on the show! Send in a question about writing you'd like to see answered on the show! As a person, we have our strength and weaknesses. As creators, we also have our strength and weaknesses. However, this isn't a conversation we have a lot amongst creators. Layers Within Art 24.08.2026 12:55
Send in a question about writing you'd like to see answered on the show! We as creators have the choice to either create something bland that can be referred to as content, or we have the ability to spend time with a project and add depths of layers to it to give it a feeling of art. Today we're discussion a recently released album that did phenomenally well to show the different layers...
Monoculture 14.08.2026 18:19
Send in a question about writing you'd like to see answered on the show! If we stick to consuming art we’re familiar with, we’ll never know what could be and grow as creators. As consumers, it is totally fine to find what you love and stick with it, but as creators we have to be willing to dip our toes into other waters. It’s the only way to develop into a well-rounded creator, and help chang...

Female Agency 26.07.2026 14:47
Send in a question about writing you'd like to see answered on the show! Today we're focusing on the portrayal of female characters in fiction and how there is a trend in how we write and portray women in stories, and how that portrayal is really f*cking unhealthy and hasn't changed enough. This episode was inspired by a particular TV show that was recently released and which I&apos...
Character Motivation 21.07.2026 13:06
Send in a question about writing you'd like to see answered on the show! It's a new day and a new session of writing came a long, and this time the writing session left me chopping off the ending of my current manuscript and working on a new outline, because hey, like our lives, our characters’ lives have so many different paths they can take. The problem is, after playing around with so...
Gut Navigation 11.07.2026 8:39
Send in a question about writing you'd like to see answered on the show! Every writer’s secret power is their gut. Our gut feeling (or intuition) can help us so much while developing our creative projects, because usually the gut will tell us something is wrong before our mind realises there is a problem. The issue? Having a quiet enough mind and enough faith in yourself to listen. 🌟This epi...

Send in a question about writing you'd like to see answered on the show! Writing has evolved over time, but lately, it doesn't seem like it's for the better. Whether it be books, TV shows or movies, we're all seeing a decline in quality in scripts and productions and fumbling marketing moves that make no sense. This means that it is getting genuinely harder and harder to find pi...

Send in a question about writing you'd like to see answered on the show! Works of art are supposed to represent people, but so often art only represents a small minority of the worlds population. Today, we discuss the importance of representation in our art and how we may unknowingly be erasing certain parts of our population if we look at the status quo and never question it. 🌟This episode...

Send in a question about writing you'd like to see answered on the show! Over the last two years, I have been working heavily on the front end of my third fantasy novel for the series, A Royal Life, and I've finally reached the midway section to realise that not only is the ending of the novel going to change once again, but that the tail end of the story is going to be much easier to wri...
The Boy Underneath the Fur 16.06.2026 11:32
Send in a question about writing you'd like to see answered on the show! Inspiration can hit us at any moment and time, sometimes even after reading a stupid post on the internet that doesn't align with our beliefs ... Today, I'm discussing a process I went through recently whereby I did exactly that; how I channelled my frustration down onto the page, and how miraculously, it ended...
