R. Alan Ingalls
The Commentary Track
The Commentary Track is a series of conversations exploring the making of independent micro-budget short films in West Tennessee. A spiritual cousin to the commentary tracks traditionally found on DVDs, these conversations between cinematographer R. Alan Ingalls and his collaborators explore the stories behind each project, forming an oral history of the projects, the process, and the lessons learned along the way. These conversations aren’t just about how the films were made. They’re about what the films mean to the people who made them.

It continues a series that began with a simple idea: show church people as they really are... flawed, funny, well-meaning, and deeply human. Daniel Hooper reflects...
The Commentary Track | Origin Story 13.06.2026 2:04
The Commentary Track was never intended to be a podcast. What began as source material for a pair of behind-the-scenes videos eventually grew into a series of conversations exploring the making of independent micro-budget films in West Tennessee.
