GC13 and David discuss the Cartoon Cartoon pilots for Pig in a Wig and Turtle Rock. Pig in a Wig features a pig in a world of humans (and a wig) who lies compulsively. Thankfully he learns the value in telling the truth, and even gets himself a girlfriend who likes him for him and not for who he pretends to be! And Turtle Rock was created by Jeff Liu, someone Steven Universe fans will know. Fighti...

GC13 and David discuss the Cartoon Cartoon pilots for Afternoon Super and Hungy Ghost. Afternoon Super answers the question: what happens if you cross over Craig of the Creek with Ice Cream Headache from Summer Camp Island. Apparently the answer is you get a fun pilot! Hungy Ghost is about a hungry ghost named Hungy, someone who everyone at the botanic garden loves and believes in despite his esta...

GC13 and David discuss the pilot for Pretty Pretty Please I Don’t Want to be a Magical Girl. Aika wants to be a boring, ordinary girl. It’s just too bad that she’s a magical girl, and ordinary isn’t really in her vocabulary (she mistakes the villain blowing up the cafeteria wall for a fire drill, for crying out loud). All the same, we still support her in her doomed endeavo...

GC13 and David discuss Next Friday: Magical Meow Meow . Next Friday: Magical Meow Meow is a short final-year student animation project wherein big sister Salem needs to beat kaiju Gabby to pass her class, but also has to take care of her little sister Daisy. It’s fun, go and watch it! And if you’re quick enough there’s still time to contribute to the Kickstarter campaign for the...

GC13 and David discuss Remember from The Amazing Digital Circus! It’s a big episode for the big finish, and a lot happened. How did you feel about how Jax was handled in this episode? Or Caine? And how do you feel about the idea of making The Amazing Digital World? We may be sad to say goodbye to these characters, but it was a good ending all the same. Plus, GC13 got to mention Aria the Anim...

GC13 and David discuss hjsakldfhl from The Amazing Digital Circus. Well, that escalated quickly. You’d think they’d be happier about losing their tormentor, but the complete desaturation of the environment (plus, you know, the holes opening up in the floor) indicates there might be something worth worrying about. And for those of you keeping track at home, the alternate titles are: Run...

GC13 and David discuss Beach Episode from The Amazing Digital Circus. Well, that wasn’t much of a beach episode, but we did get a bit of beach there at least. But if Caine is enough of a liar to set this all up, why not lie about the episode title too? Boy though, Jax is in trouble . Yeah, he was in the middle of a panic attack and accuses Caine of manipulating his thoughts, but nobody else...

GC13 and David discuss They All Get Guns from The Amazing Digital Circus. Well how do you like that, another nice and calm relaxing adventure for the squad. They must have got some corporate sponsors for this one too, because they’ve got some new hardware to play with as well. And hey, Pomni got to be on Jax’s team. Lucky! Oh. Oh that wasn’t relaxing at all. Jax looks like he nee...

GC13 and David discuss Untitled from The Amazing Digital Circus. So, Caine dipped into the suggestion box again, did he? Well finally, some nice chill adventures where nothing crazy or violent happens, unless Jax was the one making the suggestion. This is what we’ve been missing! Wait, sorry, what we meant to say is that suggestion box adventures are boring and we in no way need time for cha...

GC13 and David discuss Fast Food Masquerade from The Amazing Digital Circus. Well, this was a controversial episode. Were you excited to see the gang working in a fast food restaurant, or was the experience just too uncomfortable for you? Gangle definitely had a difficult time though, the durable plastic mask didn’t live up to its promise. Thankfully she has a friend like Zooble who will kee...

GC13 and David discuss The Mystery of Mildenhall Manor from The Amazing Digital Circus. Ragatha and Gangle got to go to a wonderful tea party in this episode, it’s just a shame Pomni didn’t get to attend as well. On the other hand, she was definitely rewarded with a lot of character growth, so she was rewarded for her suffering (unlike the last episode). We hope you feel okay some day...

GC13 and David discuss Candy Carrier Chaos from The Amazing Digital Circus. It’s time for Pomni’s first adventure, and she’s already showing off her skills as a therapist. This girl definitely has way too much experience feeling like nothing, but at least she was able to help Gummigoo. For the short period of time before Caine noticed. But while Pomni helped Gummigoo, the other r...

GC13 and David discuss the pilot of The Amazing Digital Circus. Hey everybody, there’s a new player character at the circus, let’s have an in-house adventure! It helps stave off the existential dread (it’s nice to have a distraction to keep your mind off of things). So yeah, maybe Pomni’s first day at the circus … Continue reading

GC13 and David discuss the pilot for Knights of Guinevere. Here we are in the future and it’s wrong. We’re just beginning to learn about the future created by the definitely not Walt Disney corporation, but there’s already enough intrigue to last a lifetime. Where will they go, what will they do? We think they’ll … Continue reading

GC13 and David discuss The Hardest Thing from Amphibia. Well, it’s official: the Core is awful. But then we all knew that, didn’t we? The Guardian isn’t all that great either, but we can’t forgive it for wanting a new job after tens of thousands of years (who hasn’t been there, really?). While we got a big anime fight as a treat for the eyes to start things off, the e...

GC13 and David discuss All In from Amphibia. Well, the invasion has finally come to Earth, and thankfully the castle is equipped with an everything-proof shield (with a big enough gap to allow some infiltrators in). And they didn’t even need to allow the team in if they wanted a duel, Andrias knows all you need to do is go out and ask for one! The military may not have come across great in t...

GC13 and David discuss The Three Armies and The Beginning of the End from Amphibia. Well, Anne may have experience working as a mediator, but unfortunately she just can’t fix hundreds of years of racism over a one-day teambuilding retreat. Well, she can, but she has to cheat to do it. King Andrias is, however, proving how cool he can be. Not a very good liar though, but the rebels probably h...

GC13 and David discuss Newts in Tights and Fight or Fight from Amphibia. Oh yeah, we got Tritonio back! He’s now a rebel, following on the rules of the street (at least until he’s reminded that he hates rules). And he’s good at strategies, don’t you worry! Plus, Domino 2 is back, and not only is she the mother of some adorable baby kill-a-pillars, she’s also the alpha...

GC13 and David discuss The Root of Evil and The Core and the King from Amphibia. Apothecary Gary, you’ve come back to us! And you are an awesome farmer! We’re glad that you’ve found people you can form a happy community with, and will be glad to see you back in the finale! But then there’s a history lesson about the fall of the Newt empire, how the loss of the music box mea...

GC13 and David discuss Mother of Olms and Grime’s Pupil from Amphibia. Well that wasn’t a very prophetic prophecy. Or maybe we were just already ahead of the curve. At least now we know Sasha will get her cool anime powers back though! And after a spectacular, if predictable, performance by Sprig, the toads are on the team. Best you believe they’ll be back in time for the finale...

GC13 and David discuss the pilot of Gameoverse. We love Glitch Techs too much to stay away from another cartoon with video gaming in its soul, but this one has a switch: if the hero wins their world is destroyed, so the good guys want to help each game world’s villain out! So join traumatized hero Kit, surly sidekick Kaboodle, and GC13’s favorite Gobbles in their missions on behalf of...

GC13 and David discuss Sasha’s Angels and Ulm Town Road from Amphibia. Two episode titles, two references—it was a good day. The spotlight gets to shine in new places, with Sasha’s eponymous Angels getting one episode and the Ulms in another, showcasing their beautiful (and stupid) home city. Unfortunately as beautiful as Proteus is, there might not have been enough episode to show it...

GC13 and David discuss Commander Anne and Sprivy from Amphibia. Now that we’re back in Amphibia, it’s time to get down to the hard work of overthrowing King Andrias—so who’s going to be the commander? (Sasha? Can Sasha please be the commander? Please?) Now if only Sprig and Ivy could avoid treacherizing their leader long enough to complete their mission we’d have smoother m...

GC13 and David discuss Escape to Amphibia from Amphibia (duh). Uh-oh, another two-parter where they skipped the intro? It’s time for the big deal stuff. Mr. X is in full antagonist mode (he’s still glorious though), and Anne is happily willing to show the FBI how they wage wars in the stars. Now they’re back in Amphibia, and the scenery is looking a lot less pretty than we rememb...

GC13 and David discuss Froggy Little Christmas from Amphibia. Well it’s here, the Rebecca Sugar song! Oh, yes, this was also a Christmas episode too, but we just can’t help ourselves. It definitely has meaning to us. So many wonderful presents! We got Rebecca Sugar, Anne’s mother got a float, and King Andrias even got a drone—he has such wonderful lackeys! Oh boy, here’s to...
