Beloved friends, Christ is risen, He is risen indeed. Resurrection Sunday is about the power of God triumphing over all that is death and destruction. Resurrection Sunday is about the power of God breaking the hold of death and destruction so life can burst forth!

Blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:10

Todays beatitude places us right in the midst of all that is broken around us and reminds us that our ache and longing for a whole and repaired world is a place where God meets us! And as we are met by God we rise up and engage the world in loving and healing ways.

This beatitude is simply a beatitude of grief. A radical invitation to embrace grief and mourning in a world that dismisses them. A beatitude that cautions us that there is no deep joy without having faced the depths of our griefs and sorrows. This is a beatitude that tells us that the happy lives bombarding us daily are not all that happy. Because to be truly happy we have to allow for the griefs...

Today we are beginning a new series that is going to carry us through the lenten season: shaped by the beatitudes.

 To stand firm is to see ourselves primarily as disciples of Jesus.

A significant part of our Christian faith is waiting. So for the next three Sundays we will explore this theme through the lens of various characters in the Christmas story: the elderly Elizabeth and Zechariah, John the baptist and Mary and Joseph.

A grounded spirituality is first and foremost a journey of surrender. Relying more and more on God. It is not about what we accomplish, it has always been about what God does in us and through us.

Happy eighth anniversary JourneyFamily! Can we dare! Can we dare to turn our attention to God and be shaped by more of him now and in the days to come. May we dare catch God's heart for us and live in alignment to that.

Friendship and relationship is the avenue through which God shares His heart with Abraham, God confides in His friend, Abraham. And Abraham reflects God's heart to negotiate for the people in the city.

A key aspect of God’s promises to Abraham is the involvement of Abraham’s offspring & descendants to be a part of the story. God’s purposes are designed to be multigenerational. God’s purpose has always been the blessing of all humanity.

 When the word family is mentioned, we all have a story to tell. All of us have a family of origin; a family we were raised in. You have significant influence in your family context or contexts and our conversation today resources you in how to show up and be a blessing.

Starting this September we will be going through a series called made for more inspired by the life of Abraham!

To be this church is to be shaped by the love of God so powerf ully that embodywithin us these set of values. As we grow as a church we are being called to grow in how we embody the love of God in these ways.
