Laughs in Queer: A Story of New Voices, New Cultures, and New Communities in Stand-up Comedy
The culture of stand-up comedy is one that conjures images of late nights in dark cellars, with (mostly) men getting up one after another, testing out just how much they can get away with on stage. But, what if it didn’t have to be that way? Hosted by Kay, Laughs in Queer is a program exploring the quiet revolution in the stand-up scene of Vancouver, where a collective of new open-mics are not just including marginalized voices, but building with them at their core.
