City Awakening Church
City Awakening Church
City Awakening exists to awaken both skeptics and believers to the Gospel and equip them to reach the world. We want to see skeptics and believers seek truth, find joy in community, and live with purpose in our city. The three primary components of our community consist of: Gospel saturated worship, community, and multiplication.

The People Awaken | Nehemiah 9 27.09.2026 46:20
In Nehemiah 9, we witness an entire nation come before God — hungry, humbled, and wholly dependent on Him. They fasted, wore sackcloth, and placed dust on their heads. Not because God demanded a performance, but because their hearts had been broken open by His Word. "Stand up. Praise Yahweh your God from everlasting to everlasting." — Nehemiah 9:5 Generation after generation, Israel stra...
Don't Settle for Survival | Nehemiah 7-8 20.09.2026 36:30
The joy of the Lord is your strength." — Nehemiah 8:10 The people of Jerusalem didn't just rebuild a wall. They experienced something far greater — a revival of their hearts. And it didn't begin with a new strategy or a clever program. It began with a deep hunger for God's Word. After 10 years of God's faithfulness, the question before us isn't whether God has been go...
I'm Doing a Great Work | Nehemiah 6 13.09.2026 45:34
The opposition didn't stop when the wall was almost finished. It intensified. That's one of the most important lessons from Nehemiah 6. Sanballat and his allies couldn't break through the wall — so they tried three other strategies: Distraction – "Come meet with us." (Sounds harmless, right?) Lies – Attack the reputation. Spread rumors. Create doubt. Fear – Make him afra...
Integrity Over Productivity | Nehemiah 5:1-19 06.09.2026 40:01
Nehemiah was a man with power, resources, and the legal right to use them for himself. But he didn't. Instead, he fed over 150 people at his own table every day (Nehemiah 5:17). He refused to burden the people he was called to serve. Not because he had to — but because he feared God more than he craved comfort. "Remember me favorably, my God, for all that I have done for this people.&quo...
The Strength to Keep Going | Nehemiah 4 30.08.2026 42:16
When the walls feel like rubble and the enemies are closing in from every direction — from the North, South, East, and West — it's easy to lose the strength to keep going. That's exactly where Nehemiah and the people found themselves in Nehemiah 4. Surrounded. Mocked. Exhausted. The text says it plainly: "The strength of the laborer is failing." But Nehemiah didn't give u...
Everyone Has A Role | Nehemiah 3:1-32 23.08.2026 38:59
In Nehemiah 3, something remarkable unfolds. Priests, goldsmiths, perfumers, rulers, and even a father and his daughters — all working side by side, section by section, to restore what had been broken. Everybody had a place. Everybody had a role. But tucked inside this incredible story of restoration is a sobering contrast: the Tekoite nobles. They wanted the benefits of restoration without the pa...
The Strength to Build | Nehemiah 2:1-20 16.08.2026 38:50
We're all building something. Whether it's our faith, our health, our relationships, our careers — life is a constant building process. And in that process, obstacles are inevitable. Nehemiah knew this well. Facing broken walls, hostile enemies, and an intimidating king, he did something powerful before he did anything else: He prayed. For four months, Nehemiah prayed and planned before...
Pray Before Planning | Nehemiah 1 09.08.2026 42:30
🏛️ New Series Alert: Rise and Build — Week 1 What if prayer wasn't our last resort, but our first response? In Nehemiah 1, we meet a man who receives devastating news — the walls of Jerusalem are broken down, the gates burned, and the people are in disgrace. And yet, before Nehemiah picks up a single tool, before he drafts a single plan, he does something countercultural: he prays. "When...
Life in His Presence | Psalm 48 02.08.2026 40:01
What if the restlessness we feel — that constant search for satisfaction and meaning — isn't something to fix, but something to follow? King Solomon, a man who had everything the world could offer, discovered that God "has set eternity in the human heart" (Eccles. 3:11). That longing was never meant to be satisfied by achievement, relationships, or success alone. It was designed to...
Undignified Worship | Psalm 47 26.07.2026 50:13
Did you know the Sons of Korah — the writers of Psalm 47 — were descendants of a man who had rebelled against Moses? The earth literally opened up and swallowed those aligned with that rebellion (Numbers 16). And yet, Korah's sons survived. By the time of King David, they had become established musicians and singers in the temple. Grace didn't just spare them. It repurposed them. And fro...
Unshakeable Foundation | Psalm 46 19.07.2026 36:35
"Be still, and know that I am God." — Psalm 46:10 In Hebrew, the phrase "be still" literally means to stop — to let go. Let go of the fight. Let go of control. Trust that God is God, and we are not. We trust pilots with our lives without knowing their names. We trust Uber drivers with our safety without seeing their record. Yet we hesitate to trust the God who holds the entire...
Ready for the King - Psalm 45 12.07.2026 37:46
There is a wedding coming. Psalm 45, a royal love song written centuries ago, carries a powerful prophetic truth — the King described in its verses is none other than Jesus Christ. And His bride? That's us. "Listen, daughter, pay attention and consider..." — Psalm 45:10 The Psalmist's words to the bride are words for us today: be devoted, be pure, be submissive to the King, and...
Faith in the Fog - Psalm 44 05.07.2026 36:51
Life rarely goes as planned. Marriages, careers, health, relationships—sometimes everything we thought was clear becomes foggy. And in those moments, it can feel like God has fallen asleep while our lives are falling apart. The psalmist felt exactly this way in Psalm 44:23: "Wake up, Lord! Why are you sleeping?" The disciples felt it too, crying out to Jesus during a violent storm: "...
Hope for the Hurting Soul - Psalm 42 - 43 28.06.2026 39:00
"As a deer longs for flowing streams, so I long for you, God." — Psalm 42:1 This verse isn't meant to paint a peaceful picture of a deer quietly drinking from a stream. It's the image of a deer desperately thirsting because it's dying of dehydration. That's the honest condition of the hurting soul. Psalm 42 and 43 remind us that some of the greatest leaders in Scriptu...
Sustained by Grace - Psalm 41 21.06.2026 39:15
David wrote Psalm 41 in the middle of one of the hardest seasons of his life. He was sick. His enemies were plotting against him. And one of his closest friends had betrayed him. Yet in the middle of all of it, he prayed: "Lord, be gracious to me." (Psalm 41:4) He didn't pretend everything was fine. He didn't hide his sins or his struggles. He brought all of it — raw and unfilt...
God's Redemption, Our Response - Psalm 40 14.06.2026 42:19
What does it look like when God stoops down to rescue us? 🕊️ Psalm 40 paints an unforgettable picture — a pit of destruction, thick sucking mud, and then suddenly: solid rock beneath our feet. That is the journey from sin to salvation. David didn't clean himself up before calling out to God. He cried out from the mud. And God heard him. "I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me...
The Focus of Life - Psalm 39 07.06.2026 40:28
Some mornings we walk through the doors carrying the weight of the world — a struggling marriage, a prodigal child, financial pressure, grief, or simply the quiet exhaustion of living in a broken world. David felt it too. In Psalm 39:2, he writes: "I was speechless and quiet; I kept silent, even from speaking good, and my pain intensified." He was weary. Silent. Surrounded by wickedness....
The Weight of Sin & Discipline - Psalm 38 31.05.2026 38:27
"Lord, don't abandon me; don't be far from me." — Psalm 38:21 King David — one of the greatest leaders in Israel's history — wrote these words while carrying the crushing weight of his sin. And yet, even in his pain, he didn't run away from God. He ran to God. That's the powerful truth of Psalm 38: The Lord's discipline isn't rejection — it's lovin...
Closing Credits - Colossians 4 24.05.2026 44:40
Every great story has closing credits — and so does the book of Colossians. In Colossians 4:7-18, Paul doesn't close with a grand theological statement. He closes with names — ordinary people who carried letters, opened their homes, prayed through the night, and showed up when it wasn't easy. Tychicus, the reliable messenger. Onesimus, the runaway servant turned beloved brother. Mark, th...
The Necessity of Prayer - Colossians 4:2-6 17.05.2026 40:35
We have great strategies. We have great methods. But strategies and methods without prayer are powerless. 🙏 Colossians 4:2 doesn't say to try prayer or to consider prayer when things get hard. It says to devote yourselves to prayer — to make it a dedicated, daily expression of our dependency on Christ. The Apostle Paul wrote those words from prison. And instead of praying for comfort, he pra...
Reflect Christ - Colossians 3:18-4:1 10.05.2026 39:09
"Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus." — Colossians 3:17 Everyone wants strong, healthy relationships. We want marriages that are strong, not strained. Families that are peaceful, not painful. Workplaces that are enjoyable, not miserable. But here's the truth: we can't reflect Christ in our homes and relationships if we aren't firs...
Chosen & Changing - Colossians 3:12-17 03.05.2026 37:53
God's Word doesn't just describe what we do — it defines who we are . 🙌 Paul opens Colossians 3:12 with three powerful words about those who follow Jesus: chosen. holy. dearly loved. That's not a destination we're working toward. That's the identity we've already been given. The New Testament refers to believers as saints more than 60 times — not because of perfectio...
Clothed in Christ - Colossians 2:17-3:11 26.04.2026 39:21
Paul's letter to the Colossians confronts a tension we all face: accepting Christ's newness while still reaching back for the old, worn-out ways of living. Like a child who destroys their old jeans and shoes but insists on wearing them anyway, we sometimes cling to what no longer serves us — or worse, what was never meant to save us. "So if you have been raised with the Messiah, se...
Jesus is Enough - Colossians 1:24-2:17 19.04.2026 34:00
Our culture has conditioned us to believe something is always missing. More success. More recognition. More money. More experiences. Yet no matter how much we accumulate, the emptiness remains. Paul writes in Colossians 2:9-10, "For the entire fullness of God's nature dwells bodily in Christ, and you've been filled by him." The answer to our restlessness isn't found in cha...
What Comes First in Your Life - Colossians 1:1-23 12.04.2026 40:00
Everybody has a "first" in their life—something that gets top priority. "He's also the head of the body, the church; he's the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything." - Colossians 1:18 The Colossian believers started blending their faith with cultural trends, but Paul reminds them: Jesus + something else hinders...
