The Inverted Creative Podcast

We did way more Haunt events than usual this year (which for Allison is all of it), mostly just to recap on the podcast, so now you all are reaping the rewards with this episode! We talk about our Haunt experiences at Kings Island, Cedar Point, Kentucky Kingdom, and a local Cincinnati haunted house, and give our thoughts on the houses we went through—while of course going through some of the creat...

The 2009 movie Zombieland fits both a Halloween vibe and features a theme park in it, so what better time for us to review it! Our movie-loving friend Tim joins us to break down what we love about Zombieland and to critique all of the coaster scenes on what works, what doesn’t, and what absolutely did not need the heavy editing they did on it. Also Tim posed a good question for us all - what would...

The Inverted Creative Podcast first released two years ago, and we are celebrating with announcing all of the award winners - as voted on by you! This was a lot of fun to honor creativity in the industry and shine a light on the people and places that are combining creativity with theme parks in a noticeable way. Thank you to everyone for your support of this project! A BIG shoutout to our Patreon...

We're joined by our friend Joey from the Thrills Chills and Spills podcast to talk about spooky season!! We talk about what's working well at Halloween Horror Nights this year, Allison's lack of haunt experience, what we think makes haunted events and houses work well creatively, coaster themes we think would make good houses, and more! Check out Joey and the rest of the Thrills Chills and Spills...

This week, we're coaster focused on the incredible Kondaa at Walibi Belgium! We all adore this well-themed Intamin, and we go over our ride experiences, our thoughts on the layout and the non-inverting cobra roll, a dive into the lore and the theming, and our warning to everyone about the restraints. A BIG shoutout to our Patreon subscribers! Much love to Chris, Jeff, Alexander, Nick, Barbora, Cha...

All 5 hosts are on the podcast this week for the first time ever, plus we have our resident mountain coasters expert Jacob back with us for this chaotic deep dive! We discuss whether or not we consider mountain coasters to be creds (spoiler alert: we all do), what are some of our favorites, Jenn's first (and only) mountain coaster experience, why Nate is now the Cat Distribution System itself, and...

We are so excited to finally announce the Inverted Creative Awards—our way of honoring creativity across the industry, connecting with parks and listeners, and celebrating our upcoming two year anniversary of the podcast! We talk about the inspiration for these awards, the physical awards Allison designed and printed, and go over all of the categories with what all we would personally nominate for...

We're lucky to have friends who work in the industry—like Jacob, who works as a Site Design Engineer for Anakeesta in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Jacob’s role involves planning outdoor areas for flow and infrastructure, helping design how rides fit into the park, and working collaboratively to design new attractions with theming, aesthetics, and architecture. We have a lot of great conversation about...

We've been holding onto this one until a day we needed it...and today we needed it! Allison sat down for a Conversations episode with someone she kinda knows just a little bit - her husband Mike (or Mullet). We get into how family trips influenced his love of coasters, his MASSIVE collection of nanocoasters and coaster cutouts, some of our European adventures, why we visit so many fast food spots...

Allison and Brambo met through Buzzed Bars, but it wasn't until a weekend trip to Virginia to visit his home parks that they truly became friends. They talk about the recent Buzzed Bars Birthday Bash, some of their personal BGW experiences and Pantheon takes, a few of the...

A few of us booked a trip to Atlanta for Arie Force closing weekend (before the Kumba closing announcement, otherwise we probably would have been there!), and it was quite an interesting experience. We talk about the mood that day, the closing speeches, some of the creative aspects of the ride, what the future might hold, and a lot more. Also, a quick Alabama Adventure recap from Allison and Mike!...

Longtime friend Meg is involved in the coaster community, but has long said she's not a thoosie—meaning, she doesn't really know manufacturers or stats, but she loves the rides and the friends made along the way! We chat about a lot, including our history with Buzzed Bars, some of the favorite places we've been to together, quizzing some of her limited park knowledge, and of course her horror movi...

The World Cup just ended, but we got inspired to host our own little bracket! Out of 16 countries, which one has the best overall top five coaster lineup? We argue our thoughts, even though there are some countries we struggled to figure out a top five for—either because there are too many coasters, or not enough. Do you agree with our picks? Disagree? Let us know what you think!! A BIG shoutout t...

Trying out something new...it takes us about an hour to get through trip recaps, but after that, we get into our main topic of being "Coaster Focus"ed on Ride to Happiness! We go through all the creative aspects we can think of for the ride, including onboard audio, layout, station theming, train design, and more. It's a ride experience that truly makes us all happy!!
