The Gathering Church (Video)

This message challenges us to examine whether we have been chasing a version of blessing that can only satisfy the five senses and only lasts for a season, while missing the deeper, transformative reality that Jesus is pointing us toward. The blessed life, according to Jesus, is not about what we hold in our hands. It is about who we depend on with our whole heart. The Gathering Church is located...

This message takes us into 1 Kings 19, where the prophet Elijah finds Elisha in the middle of a completely unremarkable workday. No warning, no detailed plan -- just a cloak thrown over his shoulders and a life changed forever.  The Gathering Church is located in Midland, Texas. What if the very thing that makes a great leader is the willingness to serve? That is the paradox at the heart of this message, and it turns our instincts about power and recognition completely upside down. The word 'ministry' itself, rooted in the Latin word for servant, reminds us that every role we fill in the body of Christ is fundamentally an act of service. The Gathering Church is located in...

What if the thing quietly stealing your peace, your health, and your faith has no hands, no voice, and no power of its own? In this message, we take a hard look at worry and anxiety as a silent thief that, left unchecked, can paralyze us completely. This message calls us to examine that honestly and to consider what a life of greater faithfulness might actually look like. The Gathering Church is l...

What does it truly mean to be blessed? Psalm 1 opens with that very question, and the answer might be more demanding and more rewarding than we expect. This message takes us through one of the most foundational passages in all of Scripture, revealing that the blessed life is not simply about what we receive, but about the postures we choose. Walking, standing, and sitting are not just physical act...

What does it truly mean to say yes to following Jesus? Not a yes to a better life, but a yes to an entirely new one? That question sits at the heart of this message, and it cuts deeper than we might expect.  The message challenges us to stop treating our faith like a passive possession and start recognizing it as an active calling. Knowing whose house we stand in, knowing whose name we carry, and...

This message challenges us to examine what truly sustains us, whether we know God's word well enough to lean on it when everything else feels like it is falling apart, and whether we are willing to hold on to God's provision even when it does not look the way we expected. What if the very moments that derail our plans are actually the moments God has been preparing us for all along?  When we are anchored in God's word and genuinely surrendered to His voice, even the most disruptive seasons of life become sacred ground where prophecy is fulfilled and purpose is revealed. This powerful message draws us into the reality of what it means to be the unified body of Christ through an unexpected analogy: the rugby scrum. Just as eight players must crouch, bind, and set together to withstand 2,000 pounds of pressure and advance the ball, we are called to come together in the church with coordination, alignment, unity, and maturity.  The Gathering Church is located in Midl...

We are not fighting against people, but against spiritual forces that seek to undermine our faith and separate us from God. This powerful message reminds us that Satan is a real enemy who prowls like a roaring lion, looking to devour us through doubt, fear, temptation, and discouragement. This powerful message takes us back to the very foundation of American liberty, reminding us that the Declaration of Independence contains five revolutionary words that changed not just a nation, but the entire world: 'All men are created equal.' These words are not merely political philosophy—they are deeply rooted in the Judeo-Christian worldview that recognizes every human being as created in t...

The sermon draws from Deuteronomy 5:9-10 and Ezekiel 18:20 to address a crucial question: are we simply repeating generational patterns of sin and dysfunction, or are we breaking free to build something new? We're reminded that repentance isn't just about turning from individual sins, but also about recognizing harmful patterns we've normalized in our families. The call here is urgent - we must be...

This powerful message tackles one of the most uncomfortable yet vital topics in our spiritual lives: money and tithing. Drawing from the vivid imagery of the 'third rail' in subway systems, we're reminded that just as touching that electrified rail means instant death, avoiding the biblical teaching on giving can spiritually harm us. The Gathering Church is located in Midland, Texas. You can watch...

This sermon teaches that becoming a Christlike disciple requires more than desire—it requires the power of the Holy Spirit working within us. Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to dwell in believers, purify their hearts, empower them to overcome sin, and give them boldness to witness for Christ. Through the Spirit’s presence, we receive both the desire and the power to live holy, victorious lives that...

This powerful message takes us into the upper room at the Last Supper, where we encounter one of the most sobering realities in Scripture: the danger of proximity without surrender. Through the story of Judas, we're confronted with a challenging truth—it's possible to be near Jesus, to witness His miracles, to participate in His ministry, and yet never truly make Him Lord.  The Gathering Church is...

What does true greatness look like in the Kingdom of God? This powerful message challenges us to reconsider everything culture has taught us about success, recognition, and importance. While the world pushes us to climb higher, gain more influence, and protect our image, Jesus demonstrates something radically different—He kneels to wash feet.  The Gathering Church is located in Midland, Texas. This powerful message challenges us to reconsider what biblical health stewardship truly means and why it matters to God. Beginning with the parable of the talents from Matthew 25, we're reminded that stewardship isn't merely a suggestion—it's an expectation. Just as the servants were entrusted with resources and held accountable for how they managed them, we've each been given a physical body as...

This powerful message challenges us to examine where we stand in the crowd of Christianity. Drawing from John 8:31-36, we're confronted with a crucial question: Are we merely listeners, casual fans, or true disciples of Jesus?  The journey from fan to disciple requires belief, willingness to grow through discipleship and mentorship, and ultimately full surrender. When we truly embrace this path, w...

This message challenges us to recognize how naturally self-centered we are and how that mindset creates division in our relationships and distance from God. Through the example of the disciples and the teaching of Jesus, we see that true greatness in God’s kingdom comes through humility and serving others. Jesus Himself modeled this by becoming less—choosing obedience, sacrifice, and the cross. Wh...

In a world full of self-help and constant pressure to improve ourselves, we often discover that self-discipline alone is not enough to produce lasting change. This message reminds us that true transformation comes when we come to the end of ourselves and rely on God’s grace to shape us into the image of Christ. Through Jesus, the true vine, we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to bear the fruit of...

This sermon traces the believer’s journey from death in sin to new life in Christ, showing how Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection bring immediate spiritual transformation. Our “old self” dies with Him, and through baptism and faith, we step into resurrection life, empowered to live free from sin. God renews our hearts, enabling holy living and aligning our desires with His will. Ultimately, th...

This sermon walks through Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem (Matthew 21:1–11), highlighting how He moved ahead to provide for His disciples, revealing His identity as the long-awaited Messiah under immense pressure. It emphasizes the fulfillment of prophecy through His humble arrival on a donkey, contrasting worldly expectations of power with His mission to conquer sin and death. The sermon ca...

This sermon teaches that just as a loving parent pursues a child who wanders into danger, believers are called to lovingly pursue brothers and sisters in Christ who drift from the truth. It explains that spiritual wandering is usually a slow process rooted in unchecked desires, making it both dangerous and often unnoticed. Scripture calls the church to gently restore those caught in sin, not with...
