SHOCKTOBER 2026 Pt. III - Shadow of the Vampire (2000) 30.10.2026 1:06:18
We wrap up Shocktober with Andrew's pick Shadow of the Vampire. THRILL as we list recent movies we've seen! CHILL as we watch a scene from a different Murnau film! SHIVER as we all silently take a Tom Cruise quiz!
SHOCKTOBER 2026 Pt. II - From Beyond the Grave (1974) 21.10.2026 1:08:12
Next up for Shocktober, it's Mike's pick, From Beyond the Grave. Why don't they make anthology movies anymore? It's the perfect format for horror! Also, Kit calls dibs on Peter Cushing.
SHOCKTOBER 2026 Pt. I - Blade II (2002) 02.10.2026 1:29:25
Hello, boils and ghouls! It's the return of Shocktober, and we're starting off our annual spookfest with the creep-quel to a movie we just watched, Blade II, starring Wesley Frights, Creep Creepstofferson, and Ron Demon and directed by Guillermo del Terror. The first cut is the deepest, but the second is the creepest! Blood pack? More like Blood wack!
92) Vampire On Vampire Pt. III - Blade (1998) 25.09.2026 1:23:17
It's Blade, motherfucker.
92) Vampire On Vampire Pt. II - The Lost Boys (1987) 18.09.2026 1:03:18
Jami Gertz! Glittery blood! The first openly gay child vampire hunter! We were born to shop and kill vampires, and our credit cards are all maxed out.
91) Vampire On Vampire Pt. I - Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (2000) 02.09.2026 1:10:27
Tale as old as time Vamp and girlfriend flee Bounty hunters chase Plan to fly to space To vampire city Barbaroi are strange One of them is tree Trap me in a void Shadow man destroyed Vampire Hunter D Blood Countess is mean Takes us by surprise Stab her with my sword Let the couple board Rocket to the skies I'm Dracula's son But refuse to feast Tale as old as time Song as old as rhyme Vampire...
90) The Best of Christopher Nolan Pt. III - The Dark Knight (2008) 24.06.2026 1:59:20
You wanna know how I got these...laughs? We're taking on the buddy-cop comedy classic that didn't kill any of its stars, The Dark Knight. What is Joker's plan? What does Nolan think about the Patriot Act? What the hell is Jim Gordon talking about? All that, plus an interview with Mike's friend David Dastmalchian...'s sock.
89) The Best of Christopher Nolan Pt. II - Interstellar (2014) 05.06.2026 1:33:48
Well, we did it, folks. We made Kit watch Interstellar. Hell of a long movie. Space is real wacky, y'all.
88) The Best of Christopher Nolan Pt. I - Dunkirk (2017) 24.05.2026 1:35:46
The march toward forcing Kit to watch Interstellar begins with Dunkirk. Is it Nolan's masterpiece? Or is there still too much talking?
87) Underrated 90's Sci-Fi - PT. III: Disturbing Behavior (1998) 01.05.2026 1:26:29
David Nutter directed several all-timer X-Files episodes. So why is this movie so not razor?
86) Underrated 90's Sci-Fi - PT. II: The Arrival (1996) 24.04.2026 1:15:34
The Arrival had the misfortune of debuting a few weeks before Independence Day, but at least one member of the SMTF crew thinks its the better of those two movies! Justice for The Arrival!
85) Underrated 90's Sci-Fi - PT. I: The Lawnmower Man (1992) 16.04.2026 1:35:54
Pierce Brosnan is a sexy scientist and Jeff Fahey is a sexy, uh, well, you'll see. Fortunately, this movie has no pertinent parallels to our current moment and the episode doesn't get derailed at all.
SLOW MOTION SINGLE - Life of Chuck (2025) 30.03.2026 1:43:15
In this special episode, Andrew and erstwhile producer Lee make the case for The Life of Chuck, the unappealingly titled, genre-bending, expectation-defying film from horror master Mike Flanagan.
2025 Wrap-up! 27.02.2026 3:12:27
Blow me, Oscars! Lick my balls, BAFTAs! Eat my ass, Golden Globes! We're bringing you the only award that matters: TOM CRUISE OF THE YEAR. And we also talk about like a hundred movies.
84) Weirdos in Love - PT. III: Amélie (2001) 21.02.2026 1:10:31
We were budding cinephiles when Amelie came out in 2001, and we've been kind of scared to watch it since then. Does it hold up? Or is it unbearably quirky? Listen to find out!
83) Weirdos in Love - PT. II: Secretary (2002) 30.01.2026 1:23:52
This film is distressingly difficult to find, which makes it even more disappointing that the low-rent streaming services on which it is available advertise it wholly on the back of Fifty Shades of Grey. Secretary and Fifty Shades share a few superficial traits—most strikingly the name "Mr. Grey"—but spiritually you could scarcely find two more different works. For one, Secretary is really good.
82) Weirdos in Love - PT. I: Chunking Express (1994) 23.01.2026 1:07:01
Andrew and Mike had never seen Chungking Express, so now they owe Kit big time for getting them to watch one of the best movies ever made. Kit also had pneumonia during this episode, so if it sounds like she's about to fall asleep in the middle of a sentence, that's why (and that's after editing out all the coughing and long-ass pauses).
81) 90's Oscar Bait - PT. III: The Insider (1999) 09.01.2026 1:33:46
To be honest, I'm still thinking about the title of Good Will Hunting, but it's time to watch The Insider, a movie with a name that actually makes sense. Jeffrey Wigand is an insider in the tobacco industry. Boom, done.
80) 90's Oscar Bait - PT. II: Good Will Hunting (1997) 02.01.2026 1:25:00
Why is the movie called Good Will Hunting? Did they come up with the title and then name the character to give it a double meaning? It's not like "goodwill hunting" is a colloquialism, right? And Hunting isn't even a common last name—it's like one hundred times less popular than Hunt or Hunter. And I wouldn't even say Will was out in these streets hunting for kindness or connection. He was kind of...
Xmas Triple - PT. III: Lethal Weapon (1987) 23.12.2025 1:15:54
In this ep we answer the perennial yuletide question: Is it a Christmas movie or not? We're tackling the late-80s, LA-set action-comedy film that launched a slew of sequels, an entire genre, and one of the biggest box-office draws of the 90s, who plays a down-on-his-luck cop—that's right, it's Lethal Weapon!
Xmas Triple - PT. II: Go (1999) 16.12.2025 1:26:10
The day has finally arrived: We discuss one of Mike's favorites, Doug Liman's Go, directed by Doug Liman, director of Go.
Xmas Triple - PT. I: The Ref (1994) 14.12.2025 52:04
This year, we're doing a special holiday triple of black comedy crime thrillers set at Christmas. First up, it's The Ref, which somehow managed to flop upon its 1994 release...in March. At the time of recording, Kit was getting over pneumonia and Mike was dealing with a sinus infection, so you know this one sounds really good.
79) 90's Oscar Bait - PT. I: A Few Good Men (1992) 07.11.2025 1:23:10
Son, we live in a world that has podcasts, and those podcasts have to be podcasted by guys with microphones. Who's gonna do it? You?
SHOCKTOBER 2025 PT. III - An American Werewolf in Paris (1997) 31.10.2025 53:06
JUSTICE FOR TOM EVERETT SCOTT!
SHOCKTOBER 2025 PT. II - Demonwarp (1988) 22.10.2025 1:10:40
It's the second episode of Shocktober 2025, and we're discussing Mike's pick, Demonwarp. The flick is chock full of tits and bigfoots, but surprisingly low on demons and warps. Needless to say, lots of nipple talk in this one, folks.
