There’s a lot of meaningless talk out there. Live out the main thing. Don’t let people get you focused on minor things. Major in the major. The Book of Titus teaches us well this very thing.

Our relationships are different with different people. Philemon is about the changes in his relationship with someone because of their new relationship with Jesus. As a disciple of Christ, there is something that far outweighs the importance of liking someone -- and that's loving someone because of the gospel.

You already have everything you need because you have a relationship with Christ. Don't let the world tell you any different and persuade you that you need more than Jesus. Paul's letter to the Colossian church addresses this specifically, providing the solution we need to hear and embrace.

Society has conformed Christians to its beliefs and ways. In Ephesians, Paul calls believers to conform to Christ. It is through what Christ did for us and our conformity to Him that we can successfully fight the powers that ultimately control society.

In 2 Corinthians, Paul writes about the church's lack of discernment between truth and lies, between true apostles and false apostle, between believers and unbelievers, between boasting about God and boasting about one's self, between people who do things for God and people who do things for themselves in the name of God.

God's love in Christ is the solution to divisions -- not any love, but God's love. This is not a love that can be practiced alone, but has to be practiced as the one Body of Christ. We need to live now in what will be our eternal state of existence.

How do I live right? Or maybe the better question is how do I get myself to live right? Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 1 that your works is produced by faith, your labor is prompted by love, and your endurance is inspired by hope in Jesus. Faith, hope and love... That's the fuel that will get my life moving in the right direction each day. I can grow my faith, hope and love by looking forward to...

Simply put -- your faith is enough. Profoundly proclaimed by Paul in his letter to the churches in the Roman occupied province called Galatia, faith is all you need to be a full part of the body of Christ. Full Stop. Don't let ANYONE add anything to the good news of Jesus. Your faith is enough because the Jesus is enough.

What do relationships and maturity have to do with each other? What kind of relationships does God want me to have with the people I'm supposed to be in relationship with? And where are these relationships supposed to take me?

Righteousness is an attribute that is exclusive God. He imparts righteousness to us as gift through faith in Jesus. We can't get righteousness any other way. We can't earn it. We receive it because God actively has chosen to give it to us. None of us deserves it. But all of us have equal access to it.

Power is an elusive thing in the world. But we don't need the world's power. We need the power of God. We need the power of the Holy Spirit. And both John the Baptist and later Jesus talk about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. This is the power of the Body of Christ. This is the power of the church that is missing in so churches. But what is this baptism of the Holy Spirit for?

Forgiveness is something every person needs. Doing the right thing can get us on the right road, but it is no way nearly enough. See the gravity of forgiveness come to life in Luke 3 like you may have not experienced before.

The intimate relationship between the Father and the Son has a direct relationship to how you are to be a disciple in the world. Understanding your position in this relationship is critical to understanding your role in society. It is also an incredible way to more fully understand the gospel of John as a most powerful book.

What are you called to do with your light?

As the people of God, we need to build up our communities and not just our churches. What can you do with your secular position to benefit the the Kingdom of God on earth?

We all need to know our place in the world. Psalm 8 defines that place for us. And out of that definition comes authentic praise.

This is about giving your life the meaning that God purposed you to have -- to be someone who transforms the lives of others. Matthew 9:35-38

God brings us out in two ways -- out of the place of oppression and the condition of oppression. Make sure you're free from both the place and condition.

Focus is a critical component to leadership. The focus Joshua needed to have is the focus we need as disciples.

There's a hierarchy in society that determines in most people's minds who is special and who isn't. Certain people are elevated while others are considered outcasts. But Jesus flips all that for us. How we see people is critical to how we treat people.
