**NICE CRUNCH** *by Silvio Vinci* Last bus gone and the street still warm, Your old red coat hanging over my arm. Behind that door, beneath our feet, Somebody’s bending a straight-line beat. Nice crunch — let it bite, Put a little gravel in the velvet night. Nice crunch — let it roll, A little dirt, a lot of soul. The jukebox coughs and the ceiling shakes, You move like someone who loves mistakes....

**MOVE THREE** (a reworking of an original instrumental track by Silvio Vinci ) They painted morning on the wall And sold us back the rain. My mother keeps a forest seed Where they erased her name. Move three — under the wire, Bare feet, black earth, bone and fire. Move three — out of the line, They own the clocks, but not our time. The loudspeakers are teaching birds To sing without a sky. We pre...

THE GLOBALIST [A reworking of the original instrumental track by Silvio Vinci.] Your money crosses borders, Your fences stop the poor. You toast to peace at dinner, Then sell another war. You wrap a flag round hunger, Give the hungry someone to blame. Two boys in different uniforms— Both dying for your gain. How many graves Before you’ve had enough? You sell the fear, We pay in blood. You count th...

GET OVER THE OAK TREE AND (WAIT FOR ME THERE) [A reworking of the original instrumental track by Silvio Vinci.] Leave the key beneath the flowerpot, Let the screen door swing. Take the photograph you always loved, Leave the other things. I’ve got one more shift to finish, One more debt to square. When the whistle cuts the evening, I’ll be on my way out there. Go on past the oak tree, And wait for...

THE BALLAD FROM ARCADIA (by Silvio Vinci) The gate still leans against the wall, The paint has faded in the rain. I used to think this town was small; Today I walked it slow again. Your name was scratched into the wood, Beside a date I couldn’t read. I stood where we had always stood, And let the years catch up with me. Oh, Arcadia, let me stay, Till the evening turns to blue. I’ve been carrying y...

ATMOSPHERES AND OCEAN Silvio Vinci Clouds drift slowly Across the bay Their shadows touch the water And slip away Let the clouds go by Let the water breathe All that open sky Moving through me Light on the water Salt on my skin The world grows quiet I let it in Let the clouds go by… Let the water breathe… All that open sky… Moving through me…

LORMETAZEPAM MOVEMENT (reworking of instrumental original track by Silvio Vinci) Somewhere between midnight and the morning light… Are you still awake? Quarter past midnight, the streetlights sway. You check your reflection, then dance it away. A hand on your shoulder, a spark in your shoes. Everybody’s talking, but the bass breaks through. Don’t tell me the time, let the hands unwind. There’s a p...

THE POETIC SIDE OF THE ASS by Silvio Vinci I brought a book of borrowed lines, you brought the rain in on your shoes. I tried to talk about the stars; you said, “Put on some rhythm and blues.” I had a theory about love, you had your feet up on my chair. The record crackled, you leaned back— my words went nowhere in the air. Slow down, baby, let the whole world pass. A little velvet, a little brass...

THE GARG BINGE (by Silvio Vinci) Garg came walkin' down the line, Got a crooked smile and a funky mind. No money, no shoes, no place to go, Just a pocket full of rhythm And a soul full of soul. The Garg Binge! Oh, the Garg Binge! Too much trouble, Too much swing! Too much rhythm, too much wine, Too many women, not enough time. Doctor said, "Boy, you're doing fine!" Garg just laughed And crossed th...

OAKLAND TABLA (reworking of instrumental original track by Silvio Vinci) Saturday, the working week is done, we’re coming over, one by one. Move the table, let the music play, we’ve been waiting for this day. Grandma sings and everybody knows where that winding melody goes. Far from India, beneath another sky, we lift our hands and let it fly. Oh, Oakland Tabla, take us round and round. Bring a li...

FREE ZONE (reworking of instrumental original , track , Free zona, by Silvio Vinci) Half a moon across the floor, Someone laughing just next door. You draw circles on my sleeve, I forget I meant to leave. Free zone… Let the outside go. Free zone… We can take it slow. There's a record wearing thin, Let it end, then start again. You say nothing, I say less, Let the rhythm do the rest. No names. No p...

Lee Cooper (reworking of original instrumental track , Lee Cooper 's Wife's, by Silvio Vinci & Luigi Cattani )

CROUNCHY (reworking of instrumental original track , Crunchy, by Silvio Vinci) Cheap suit, Good shoes. Friday’s got Nothing to lose. Loose change, Last train. Somebody’s tapping On the windowpane. Your left foot knows Your left foot knows What your head don’t know. You came for a drink— Crounchy! (Get down low.) Crounchy! Crounchy! (Get down low.) Crounchy! (Let the whole thing roll.) A little rou...

DON'T KEEP TABS ON ME (reworking of instrumental original track , Lover tabs , by Silvio Vinci ) You came to claim your favourite shirt, The one you left last June. Now it’s hanging on the kitchen chair, And you’re dancing round the room. Don’t keep tabs on me, Just keep me company. Let the whole world count its money— Spend a little time with me. You start to list my little faults, I know a few o...

POLIUM (remix) - By Silvio Vinci (reworking of original instrumental track , Polium) Your coat is on the floor, My watch is running slow. The day knocks at the door — We let it knock and go. Let the world go by, Leave the clock alone. You can stay all day, Make yourself at home. The neighbours start their cars, We hear them pull away. You smile into your cup And let the record play. Let the world...

LET THE WORLD WAIT (by Silvio Vinci) Coffee going cold Sun across the floor You don’t say a word I don’t need much more Let the world wait Let the clocks run Stay here a while We’re not done Voices on the stairs Someone’s running late You reach for my hand I forget the date Let the world wait Let the clocks run Stay here a while We’re not done Let the world wait… Just one more day…

reworking of MOVIN ON , instrumental by Silvio Vinci

A Sunday shirt, a second skin, I left a note beside your cup, A promise I would call. The kitchen clock was running fast, My coat was in the hall. A Sunday shirt, a second skin, A ticket creased in two. I watched the houses losing shape And tried not to think of you. **[Chorus · 0:47–1:06]** Let the last train leave without me, Let the wheels keep rolling on. For the first time in a long time, I c...

THE CLOCKMAKER'S GARDEN by Silvio Vinci Behind the walls of yesterday, A clockmaker had lost his way. He planted hours beneath the trees, And hung his minutes on the breeze. The silver birds refused to sing, The winter wore the crown of spring. And every flower, pale and blue, Remembered things it never knew. He turned the hands against the sun, And counted dreams instead of one. A thousand bells...

# PROJECT 44 by Silvio Vinci They gave me a number, They gave me a name. Forty-four reasons To play their little game. A man in a grey suit Was knocking at my door. He said, "You're looking different, We can't allow that anymore." Hey! Don't tell me what to do! I've got nothing left for you. Turn it on and shut the door, I'm not your forty-four! They painted all the windows, They took away the sun...
