PERCH begins where the poetic semi-autobiography SPLIT SOULS IN TRANSITION by Alfred Harrell ends. PERCH is the ongoing story of a bastard child buried alive to cover up an unwanted pregnancy and the shame associated with it at a time long, a time long before the sexual revolution or the MeToo movement. Perch’s saving grace and curse is that his infantile body would be later removed from his shallow grave because his burier for a moment in time was moved to spare his life. She decided to deliver him into the hands of a caregiver who later baptized in the name of ancient and modern gods.
