Mid-Life Crisis Task Force

I recently watched Wes Anderson's new film "The Phoenician Scheme," which led us on a tangent about his movies and ideas for a superhero film. Discussion is already in progress when this recording starts.

Want to know how much of an impression this movie made? When I went to edit it, I couldn't remember the title or anything about it! Yet, somehow, we talked about it for over an hour! It's about aliens in a small town in Illinois and features some really odd cinematic choices.

This is presented "as is." Apparently, right after we watched this, the movie got pulled from YouTube and is not available on any streaming service I have access to, so I am unable to ensure that this syncs properly. So, if you have it a go, it might require some trial and error.

It's MLCTF vs The Village People! This "origin story" movie was released in 1980 at the tail end of the disco era. Stars Valerie Perrine, Caitlyn Jenner (still Bruce at the time), Steve Guttenberg, and, of course, The Village People themselves.

This week, we conduct another AI test. Same as before, we fed it some questions from a Pink Floyd song and got... interesting... answers.

Hopefully will get this on our YouTube channel synced with the video soon.

A generic mummy movie actually filmed in Egypt! Stars no one you'll recognize and features some of the worst acting in history. A real turd!

It's a little late, but here's our commentary/movie riff of Stephen King's magnum opus, Maximum Overdrive. Currently available on Tubi and Prime.

We watch and review the 1986 film Maximum Overdrive, written AND directed by Stephen King. There's a reason King isn't known as a director.

We welcome back Kathryn & Elizabeth from The Binary System Podcast for a discussion of Stephen King's book and Stanley Kubrick's movie, The Shining. Spoilers abound, so don't say we didn't warn you!

Commentary/Movie Riff of The Messenger (1986)

We watch a 1986 "gem" starring and directed by b-movie icon Fred Williamson. Co-starring Cameron Mitchell and a bunch of people you've never heard of, this confusing mess of a film is a standard revenge action piece set in Italy and the US.

Welcome to part 2 of our post holiday catch-up! In this episode, we discuss AI generated music, a handful of movies, rag on the Snow White remake, and discuss The Day the Clown Cried (bet you didn't see that coming!)

I asked ChatGPT some questions from a Pink Floyd song. It didn't go well.

For our first get together after the Holidays, we had an unscripted (i.e. rambling) discussion about whatever came to mind. Needless to say, it went on for awhile, so here's the first part where we discuss the movie Bad Boys, Sean Connery films, The Rock's Red One, our Christmas presents, Popeye, and more!

Our first time watching this stinker! Experience the "joy" of the season. Watch the movie along with this on our YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/YE302Ucp1ls?si=xU_epAv28bfpqSh9

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! Since it the season, we picked a Christmas themed movie to review. It's 1989's Elves, which stars Grizzly Adams himself, Dan Haggerty, and no one else you've ever heard of. It's about Nazi's trying to breed a race of super elves. I wish I was making that up.

Our first reaction to watching the extravaganza that is Robowar!

For this episode, we watched Robowar, a Predator/Robocop mashup with a dash of Rambo thrown in for good measure. Starring Big McLargehuge himself, Reb Brown, and a bunch of other people you've never heard of. Features machine guns being fire indiscriminately, lots of walking in the jungle, and a robot with a chicken foot on its head.

Chris & Nate discuss the zombie horror crafting game 7 Days To Die and take a quick tangent into Stephen King books.

For our Halloween edition of Trash For the Masses, we watch and discuss an infamous Evil Dead ripoff from 1990 called Demon Wind. It stars no one you've ever heard of and it's main feature is confusion.

Tired of the hearing the same old spooky music at Halloween? We made a playlist of more obscure tracks to liven up your trick or treating! For our latest deep dive into a good movie, HAP picked 2013's Coherence. It's about a group of friends at a dinner party who experience strange things when a comet passes over. SPOILER WARNING: It's not possible to discuss this film without spoiling it. Go watch it if you're curious, then come to hear us talk about it. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2866360/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
