Hey Strangeness

Happy Thanksgiving! Here's something stupid that we're calling a "special episode." I'm not sorry for it and you clicked on this so that's on you. Original song and lyrics copyright to Sabrina Carpenter and whatever record label. "Espresso" karaoke arrangement by Julian Bunetta Will the algorithm pick this up if I say "Sabrina Carpenter" enough? This is a non-monetized parody produced for entertai...

At long last Hey Strangeness dives into one of the most perplexing cases of all time - The Doddleston Messages. Featuring Joss and Monique Rose of Fright Life Paranormal, join us for a trip across the Vertical Plane - and beyond. Featuring the Diary of Dirk Buckshot, Entry #2. Follow Fright Life Paranormal

Find out how you can help those impacted by Hurricane Helene. Planet X. Is it real? Probably not - well, maybe. I don't know, man. Here to help us find out is Steve Berg, host of Hi, Strangeness and also a famous actor (!!!). What starts as an insane conversation about missing planets becomes an in depth look at how storytelling effects human society, and how even some of the strangest ideas can h...

In March of 2022 we traveled from Texas to New Mexico to Nevada and back again. Along the way we stopped off at some of the most notorious locations in the UFO community, and at long last, we're back to reflect on the experience. Join the Strangefolk! www.patreon.com/heystrangeness

In our first on the ground "investigation," we experienced a variety of maybe-paranormal-maybe-not activity. The historic Menger Hotel is one of the oldest buildings in San Antonio, and is deeply, deeply haunted. Come hang out with us for the night.

We may very well be on the precipice of a very different reality. Joining me to discuss the state of the union of unidentified arial phenomena are three of the smartest people I know - Micah Hanks, Monique Rose and Joss Rose. We discussed current events, pending hearings, new legislation and perhaps the biggest question of all - are we approaching what experts often refer to as The Singularity? Si...

What does it mean to be an ethical creator in the paranormal space? I'm not sure I know, so I asked some friends for their advice. This episode was originally produced as a Strangefolk exclusive, but if we're talking ethics, placing what we feel is important content behind a paywall seemed... wrong. We hope you enjoy it. Special thanks to Jordan Heath and Heather Moser. Campfire: Tales of...

In the first full episode of Hey Strangeness in over a year we take a deep dive (despite numerous technical problems, changing studios and long gaps between recording) into the supernatural world of The Simpsons. Chances are it's a lot stranger than you think. Spiderpig Is it about my cube? Research links, The Simpsons: A Complete Guide to Our Favorite Family The Simpsons Fan Wiki Join the Str...

This interview was originally recorded in September of 2022. Despite it sitting on my computer for months and months, Jeff and I agreed that it would be a waste not to share it. Jeff gave me the inside scoop on some of what goes on behind the scenes of Strangeology, and the dude is always just great to talk to, man. Be sure to check out the links below to see Jeff's work, and after the intervi...

In 1977 Laura had an inexplicable encounter with what she described as a "Wolf Man" in Meridian State Park in Meridian, Texas. You can learn more about it here, and by checking out The Texas Dogman Triangle. Special thanks to Small Town Monsters Publishing who holds the copyright for this text. No one told me I had to say that, I just think it sounds cool. And a very special thanks to Jo...

Hey Strangeness will return for Season 2 before you know it. In the mean time, we'd like you to meet Dirk Buckshot, Bigfoot Hunter, and I'd reeeeeally like to tell you about my first book. The Texas Dogman Triangle will be available from Small Town Monsters on May 23rd, and stay tuned for updates on the companion film The Dogman Triangle: Werewolves in The Lone Star State. Preorder The Tex...

This is a weird one. Weird because it's almost never talked about, and even weirder because it involves INVINCIBLE BEAR MONKEYS. Or something. Part cryptid encounter, part UFO story, all BATTLE ROYALE, The Caracas Dwarves has recently become one of our favorite cases. Find out why.  Hey Strangeness on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/hey_strangeness/ Strange Conversations on Youtube https:...

Thank God for Tom DeLonge After and during the course of a prolific musical career, one of the most important movers in the paranormal/unsolved niche since Thomas Baker Slick Jr. would do something that - to put it lightly - would send shockwaves across the world. In 2017 the To The Stars Academy released what are probably the most impactful pieces of hard evidence regarding the UFO/UAP question t...

They're everywhere. EVERYWHERE. They've been around for centuries, they're taking over our yards, infiltrating our holidays, lining the shelves of our retail establishments... what are we gonna do, you guys? Probably go extinct, because we've basically invited the GNOMES into every aspect of our lives, and when they turn on us it's all over. Join us for a strange and semi in-depth discussion... on...

This was going to be a quick episode highlighting a particularly interesting Mesoamerican shapeshifter. Then it turned into a rabbit hole of coincidence and apparent linkages with other folk tales which literally blew our minds. Join us on a strange journey through Mesoamerican mythology in which we find connections with La Lechuza, the European Werewolf, Quetzalcoatl and a lot more. We'll also ge...

Happy New Year! Today we take a semi-deep dive into the mythology of Quetzalcoatl; The Aztec Dragon, The Feathered Serpent, and... The Jesus Snake - ? Quetzalcoatl is steeped in lore spread over decades and centuries, and runs the gambit from "maybe some people saw a dinosaur" to "oh wow this is some crazy stuff right here," - let's ask, though - what else might be behind this legend? It's 2022, a...

You all know the Yule Cat; and that cat was huge indeed. Or maybe you don't, in which case this episode is perfect for you! Come learn all about the Kurisumasu Dai Kaiju (Christmas Giant Monster) who encourages generosity, textile manufacturing and devours hapless peasants. We've also got details on our HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY which is live right now! And some info on our other show, Strange Conversation...

It’s time to talk Chupacabras. Which one? Both. And soon, we hope, you won’t have to ask that question. Brought to you by Loch Ness Licorice. Visit Paranormalitymag.com to cast your votes and rename the “Texas Chupacabra.”

We had an amazing time at Cryptid Con in Lexington, Kentucky. A huge thank you to everyone we met, hung out with and accosted as Krampus. Part survival guide, part travel blog, part stream of consciousness, we had a unique experience at Cryptid Con and are excited to share it with you.

Sasquatch has a long and interesting history in Texas. We dig into sightings from the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization database, some known hoaxes, and then wax poetic about whether or not false sightings can be a good thing.  This episode was a weird one. We almost scrapped it and started over, but that seemed a waste. What was supposed to be an episode on Sasquatch in Texas turned int...

It's been a little bit since our last episode. Bummer. But to celebrate spooky season we're back with episode 6 featuring... a look back at the life of a millionaire from Texas. Huh. We were gonna do a Halloween special, but we didn't write one. What we DID write was this. Audio was recorded a few weeks ago so it's a bit out of date and came around before our NEW LOGO which we absolutely love. Mor...

It's Hispanic Heritage Month! La Lechuza is an old, old story which is deeply engrained in the oral tradition of many Latin American cultures. Is it a cryptid, spectral being, misidentified owl, or something else entirely? We don't know, but that doesn't stop us from spending almost an hour trying to figure it out.  First post in the "creator" series, https://www.instagram.com/p/CT7VXbdLZBz/...

The Lone Star State has a rich history of UFO sightings which continue to this day. We look at some historical cases, some VERY recent ones, and also teach you how to survive an alligator attack and avoid going missing in deep bodies of water. What's going on with Lake Travis? Where are all these cylinders coming from? Alligators? Yes. That's all we got is yes. Links below to cited articles and gu...

We're VERY excited about the latest film from Small Town Monsters. Give us three minutes of your time and we'll tell you why.
