FREEDOM

This track was developed during the creation of my Dread Pirate Robbie album but was held back due to creative challenges while I refined the vision. Built from a raw rock loop sent by my bro JD that sparked the entire concept, it evolved through early production with Johnny Narotics, initial mixing by Spike Leo, fresh guitars recorded at FBT Studios in Detroit, and final arrangement and production completed in El Salvador. Releasing as part of my annual Bitcoin Pizza Day tradition, the song captures the raw journey from humble beginnings — where paper money meant nothing and every move felt like a gamble — to stacking sats, building momentum, and chasing freedom from being “brokey.” With lines about hitting blackjack, strong-arming the come-up, trad wife dreams, and the lingering doubt that it all might be a mirage, this record is a gritty celebration of HODLing through the highs and the fears.
