Fangs Up

After playing Jackson State on the Football field many FAMU fans again came away from a game saying that they were close enough to win but the difference was turnovers. FAMU’s defense was solid and played a good game but yet again the teams best efforts to get a win were thwarted. The Turnovers have been an issue for much of the season but the game against Jackson State saw a season high for turno...

We have some guest today from the Showdown in St. Pete that are here to talk about the entire weekend of events. Showdown in St. Pete isn't simply another stop on the basketball calendar. It's a destination event designed to bring outstanding college programs together in an e...

FAMU football played against Alabama State in a place that has been very good to FAMU over the years. After last year's shellacking of the Rattlers at Bragg Stadium, the Rattlers got some get back this year by ruining Alabama State University's Homecoming. Along with success on the football field the other FAMU teams understood the assignment. FAMU Volleyball dominated UAPB and Grambling a...

Hurricanes are notorious for causing change and destruction. Well in this case Hurricane Isaias is causing the what was going to be a homecoming in the sun to be a rush to beat this incoming storm. This game is very compelling as FAMU is desperately looking for a victory and Alabama State is reeling after playing in similar weather conditions in Daytona. In that showing the Hornets were not able t...

FAMU Volleyball held it down this week as the Football team was Idle on a Bye week. And Oh what a time to be off. The SWAC had multiple upsets and so did the MEAC. But the talking point for the week will definitely be the Mississippi Valley State comeback and BCU scoring an upset at home. Saturday was a great day to reset because it was Wild in those HBCU football streets. And what a time to be ab...

It truly is A Different World from where we came from a few years ago. Even comparing last year's team to this version of FAMU football has many in Rattler Nation wondering what has gone wrong? And while we can easily look at what has gone wrong this season, what has gone right is another question that could use some investigation. One of the things that has gone right for sure seems to be the...

FAMU Volleyball Split the weekend series of games while the Football team continues a losing streak that has FAMU fans wanting to press reset. We definitely will touch on some of what we saw at the game but will also wonder out loud what is next. Fan...

Ok FAMU is not playing the Crimson Tide, but the Football and Volleyball teams are playing Alabama A&M and Alabama State University in Tallahassee. Both teams find themselves in similar situations but on varying sides of the spectrum. FAMU Volleyball is in a place that gives the fans hope for the continued success of the program while the Football team is in need of a win in the worst of ways....

FAMU Football did more than lay an egg at home against Tennessee State University. The game showed that FAMU’s football team is not able to beat itself and the opponent at the same time. Beyond exposing that norm we saw that FAMU has an issue keeping quarterbacks healthy this season. The game was well attended but the post game will likely go down in the books as one of the best post game pressers...

Coming into the season many of us who believed in the potential of FAMU Football are a bit more than concerned with what we have seen thus far this season. So while many of us are frustrated with the outcome of the week in Miami we can still prepa...

UAPB has been at the bottom of the conference for the majority of the teams time within the Southwestern Athletic Conference. And this year is likely to be more of the same and the Rattlers are playing host to the Tigers. And on the other end of the rebuilding line we have Southern University who has struggled mightily to get wins against FAMU in the sport of Football. Let's look at two games...

Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium has been a house of horrors for the FAMU fan, and in all honesty Jackson State has been a boogy man for the FAMU Fan. The 2025 contest was an indictment on the football program that reigns fresh in the minds of all who were in Bragg Stadium and the failures of the 2024 contest in Thee Vet also reminds many FAMU faithful of how close this game was. The hope thi...

Last year saw Alabama State finally get over the FAMU sized hump in the schedule in a very lopsided victory over the home Rattlers. This year's battle has Alabama State sitting again near the top of the SWAC’s preseason polls and expecting to again make a run for the SWAC title. But here come the Rattlers who seemingly have nothing to play for but everything to gain. The Rattlers get the oppor...

Alabama A&M and Florida A&M University is not a rivalry of any sort, especially on the football field. This is largely because the Bulldogs have yet to defeat the Rattlers since the two have been in the SWAC. Well this year the teams meet again with the hopes that we will see more of the same. But Alabama A&M has a veteran QB that is returning and a 2nd year head coach all while FAMU l...

Tennessee State is known as the land of Golden Sunshine but on the day that these two teams play FAMU, we are looking for Dark Clouds to be on the horizon. This game is built upon the years of rivalry and angst which extends from the playing field to the marching bands. This could be a very important game for FAMU Football after spending a week in South Florida. Fangs Up! #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBC...

Albany State makes a return trip across the border to open the season against FAMU and even the most discerning of fans believes that the Rams will need persons from the Field to Mob the Rattlers if they hope to pull off an upset. Both teams have new coaches and neither fanbase wants to be asking Where Are We Going. Welp, the question will be can Project Dreams happen on the field of dreams during...

It is way to early truly start the preseason predictions, largely because we are still waiting to get information about what some of the final rosters will look like.
