The downhill slide of Northern Israel's monarchy continues. Jeroboam II goes down the same bad path as Jeroboam I. The Kings who come after him do no better. Will the downward spiral ever cease?

Jehoahaz, son of Jehu comes to the throne and something very Exodus-like happens. Then, another Joash (Jehoash) appears, this time in the North. The North now has a chance to right wrongs of the past and be "resurrected." Will they carve out a better future than their idol worshiping past?

Johoash/Joash has come to the throne in Judah. What does this mean for God's people? Will it be a good reign or will there be surprising events? Interesting, Johoash takes the throne at 7 years old leading the reader to believe there could be a good future ahead. Certainly the repair of the Temple is a good thing. Being confused in this part of scripture is no surprise. Joram (Jehoram) and Ahaziah are names that have come up already as kings, only in North Israel instead of Judah.
