Chapter Brothers

Things aren't looking good for Eddie but Roland is there to help, thankfully. Nick and Kevin think of a good spin off, Dorning and Douglas, CIA. Deere and McDonald deal with a surprisingly strong bathroom door . A brief cameo by the angry passenger was a fun chance for terrible voice work from Nick.

Kevin and Nick decide to go one section further than planned. Jane is noticed by the Gunslinger. Eddie meets Roland in the flesh.

Kevin and Nick continue into the next section. Roland works to understand the rules of the door. We meet a new character, Jane, a gunslinger in her own way. The steel wire tightens. We get our first guest for a moment, Cinthya.

Kevin and Nick learn a bit about Eddie Dean's background and his task at hand. Roland learns more about the rules of traveling between worlds..

Roland steps through the door. We meet a new character, Eddie Dean.

Roland continues walking up the beach until he encounters a door and examines it carefully. Nick takes far too long to understand what is going on at the end, while the always patient Kevin waits for the aha moment.

Kevin and Nick reach the end of the Prologue while going on the usual amount of tangents. Roland quickly takes stock of where he is and what he needs to deal with now.

Kevin and Nick begin "The Drawing of the Three" by discussing the Argument and Prologue: The Sailor. Roland comes to grips with some of his past choices but then losing his grip on an important part of his identity..

Kevin and Nick finish out season 1 by reading the afterword of The Gunslinger. Stephen King discusses the origins of the story and gets us excited for The Drawing of the Three. The brothers wax poetic about an important Robert Browning poem "Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came".

Kevin and Nick reach the end of the Gunslinger. Roland and The Man in Black finish their long plaver. The MIB's true identity is revealed. A lot of time passes.

The Man in Black pontificates to Roland about how Size is the greatest mystery the universe offers, and does his best to show the Gunslinger how smart he is while the Gunslinger remains unimpressed.

Roland and the Man in Black travel through geologic time and space, exploring things on the macro and micro scale. Kevin and Nick have their minds blown.

Roland and the man in black begin their long discussion. Nick is still clearly upset about what happened at the end of the last episode. Luckily Kevin is here to keep us on track.

Kevin and Nick reach the exciting and heart-wrenching culmination of the Slow Mutants. I have no words. The Man in Black is seen again.

A terrific action scene unfolds as the slow mutants come out in full force. Kevin and Nick go on scientific tangents.. Roland and Jake bond some more.

Roland and Jake finally get a glimpse of the eponymous Slow Mutants. Kevin and Nick discuss the uncanny valley and make analogies to the id, ego, and superego.

Kevin and Nick continue with the flashback in the Slow Mutants. An exciting action scene, with a good amount of tangents (as usual). Our longest episode to date. We thought of splitting it in two but kept it as one. Roland meets Cort for battle and uses clever tactics. Achievement unlocked!

Kevin and Nick move on with the flashback. Roland challenges Cort and we see David again.

Kevin and Nick continue pushcarting through the Slow Mutants. Jake asks Roland about his coming of age. Roland begins the story with how Marten revealed his affair with Roland's mother.

Kevin and Nick continue through the Slow Mutants. Roland and Jake struggle through the dark and encounter a railroad track and a talking push car.

Kevin and Nick begin The Slow Mutants. Quick spoiler warning: Nick asks questions about Carrie in the SK trivia. Skip to about 10 mins if your don't know that book/movie. Roland and Jake begin their walk in the dark. Roland recalls some of his past.

After a quick Stephen King trivia and discussion. Kevin and Nick continue on with The Oracle and the Mountains. Roland and Jake continue their long climb in pursuit of the Man in Black. Roland gets more introspective and The Dark Tower is mentioned.

Roland has a nice trip, smells some smells, and has some fun but also gets some prophecies

Kevin and Nick move on through the Oracle and the Mountains. They discuss oracles and succubi. And question some of Roland's babysitting methods.
