Apex Adjacent

There really is no limit to what Ian will do with his R32. In this episode he recounts his experience taking his son camping, watching as his car was bump-inspected by a gigantic bull, and somehow rockets were involved? Okay. We love you.

There are a few things that you can count on when it comes to Apex Adjacent. One, Dave does, and will continue to do, WEIRD stuff while karting. Two, we hit the blanket fort therapy session in under 5 minutes. And three? We've got takes. This time it's on Tesla and the new Ford F-150 Lightning. We love you.

Ian is back from outer space! Well, Oklahoma City, so you know, space but with way more corn and the like. In our episode this week Ian retells his weekend racing: the highs, the lows, and the big green thing that kept him warm at night. We love you!

In this week's episode we're honored to have Patrick George on the show! We discuss the democratization of automotive media, car media's sustainability, and what elements of traditional media we love. If you really want to get into how the automotive media sausage is made, this is the episode for you.

We've often stated that grief is a part of the automotive ownership process. In this week's episode it hits way too close to home. Pour out some 0W-40 and light some direct ignition cassettes on fire as Dave's Viggen is no more. We love you.

Adam! Ten Tenths! This has been a long time coming. We've even sat down across from one another in the before times in REAL PHYSICAL SPACE and consumed BBQ together! Yeah! But it's taken us YEARS to get our good buddy Adam on the show. Well, the waiting is over!!!

On this week's show we talk about the things that everyone else is talking about. We're talking Teslas, and we even talk about talking about Teslas. Woah. We love you.

There's not much that needs to be said about this week's episode beyond the fact that we're thankful to talk to each other about everything that's going on in and out of our car bubbles. Please take care of yourselves everyone, stay safe, and remember that we love you.

This week we're absolutely humbled to have Chris Rosales on the show! Chris writes insightful and poignant pieces that discuss car culture and how it fits in to culture as a whole. Give his work a read over at Car Bibles, trust us, it's just the kind of stuff we love to ponder.

In this week's episode Ian tells us about a time he had an encounter with toxic brosculinity. Dave gives Ian a music-themed license plate game, and our buddy Joe managed to find the EXACT OPPOSITE of the Booty N Pizza windshield decal guy. We love you everyone, stay safe out there.

We had a fantastic time talking to Chrissy and Jeff from the Everyone Racers podcast! They are super-experienced endurance racers and we had a fantastic conversation around endurance racing, vanity plates and rental cars. Thank you so much for hanging out in the virtual blanketfort with us, you're welcome back any time!

This week's episode is AWESOME, no two ways about it. Joining us in the virtual blanketfort is Syd, the owner, operator, artist, and all around awesome person behind OHOAT! She makes INCREDIBLE art and AMAZING things you should absolutely buy!

We're super humbled this week to have David Obuchowski in the virtual blanket fort this week! David's an awesome podcast host and producer, be sure to binge all of the Tempest episodes, and an all-around awesome member of the automotive community!

We'd be lying if we said we're comfortable in EVERY single situation we encounter. Press events. Bank lines. Urologist Exams. Basically every encounter with us equals at least one uncomfortable person and usually it's us. In this week's episode we talk about Ian's recent discomfort and how he'd prefer for his mechanic interactions to go.

In this week's episode Ian basically yells at people and tells them to get off his lawn, but like the car version. You know? We don't either. We love you!

That new USPS mail truck design putt-putted straight into our hearts. I mean come on, it looks like a cartoon! Anyway, Ian sees a crazy Juke, which we also love, we have tons of listener MyEyes, and a license plate game. We love you.

Ian never fails to impress! Besides absolutely dominating the license plate game, we discuss Ian's recent camping trip, and vehicles that are great in the winter and not awful during the rest of the year. We love you everybody!

We have a short and sweet one this week. We discuss being on Talon Homer's show, Ian's Ronin-themed FMKCars and Dave runs us through a license plate game. Oh! And we got gifts!

This week our virtual blanket fort is graced by Talon Homer! He's here discussing his latest YouTube Series, Drivin' Theater, cars and movies, and movie cars! All that plus Talon's fond memories of a Chevy Impala, video game racing, and a dash of therapy.

In this week's show we return to form and mostly talk about cars! That's right, it's an Apex Adjacent tech show, featuring cars! We love you everyone, please stay safe.

Whew. Okay. Take a deep breath and allow yourself to let out the ever so slightest sigh of relief. That's what we're doing on the second part of this week's show and we'd encourage you to do it as well. Oh yeah, and we also invented a mental health self-check based on the 5th gen Maserati Quattroporte. So yeah. We love you.

Look, we're going to level with you. Stuff is TENSE right now. Given everything that's happening in the world right now we've decided to split this week's episode up into two different parts. This one is a quick check-in between two friends to find out how one another is coping with everything. We'll come back at you later this week with another episode once current events play out. Please mask up...

In this week's episode, we host a virtual intervention/support group/investigation into our buddy Marquette's recent automotive purchase. We had a great time chatting with him, and we're looking forward to you watching/listening along.

Honestly, there isn't much we can say about this week's episode. There have been some absolutely crazy and disappointing events taking place, so in this week's episode we talk about the coup attempt and kick it over to ourselves from a time before it happened. We love you everyone, please stay safe.

Was this the 2020 any of us wanted to have? Ooof. No. Hard pass. That said, there were still some positive things we could pull out of this dumpster fire of a year. In this week's episode we reflect on the things that kept us sane and got us through, and that absolutely includes you dear listener/viewer. Thank you so much for sticking with us and we love you.
