Moving from marriage to meat, Paul talks about food sacrificed to idols. Some can partake and others cannot, but what should be our response to others' convictions? Join me as we talk about the convictions of others.

Paul just addressed the married, and now he's addressing the unmarried. To them, he says it is better to remain unmarried if they can. Neither is sinful, but Paul says if you have the choice, stay unmarried so you can fully focus on the Lord.

Paul talks about changing one's status and does this through an illustration of circumcision and slavery. Through the example of circumcision, Paul says we should not change ourselves whether we are circumcised or not, while the illustration of slavery gives us confidence that whether we are free or slave, we are still under Christ.

Let's talk about marriage with unbelievers because Paul has multiple instructions on this in both his Corinthians letters. In the first, he says be with them; in the other, he says don't. So what's the deal? How do we know which one to apply? Join me, and let's talk about it.

Sexual immorality is running rampant, so Paul takes it on to address it in the context of marriage. Paul calls for mutual submission between spouses in a culture that says men are dominant and women are submissive.

Paul knows sin is running rampant in Corinth, and a common issue is sexual immorality. Here Paul addresses it to remind them their bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit.

After Paul talks about sin in the Corinthian church, he then brings up handling court cases. Should an unbeliever judge believers?

Paul finds out there is sexual immorality in the church in Corinth, which they are acting proud of. Paul quickly reprimands and expresses the danger of allowing brothers and sisters in Christ to sin.

Like a father, Paul is correctly the Corinthians by first showing them his life is not one of glamour and then he corrects their attitude saying don't put it past me to visit with a rod of discipline.

Paul continues to try and unite the Corinthians as they debate who they follow, either Paul or Apollos. Paul instead gives them a glimpse into what the life of an apostle is like, and it's not glamorous by any means.

Paul is talking about who we build our lives on, which is Christ. Like a wise builder, Paul has laid a foundation that we can build upon, and others can help build upon, but this will ultimately be tested at the second coming of Christ. Did we build well? Did we use the right materials?

Paul takes a shift from focusing on wisdom to focusing on the fighting going on among the Corinthians. He calls them out for acting like the world and addresses them not as mature people of faith, but infants in Christ who still have a long way to go.

Paul continues his talk about wisdom, but not earthly wisdom. Instead, he shares about the power of God to come through so we don't need earthly wisdom. There is a time and place for eloquence, but sharing salvation does not need all the right words or all the right answers. Instead, the Spirit of God will guide us through as his plan was set since the creation of the world.

Back on the air! Paul goes on to talk about how we are not worthy of boasting, but God is. God is infinitely wiser than we are, and it is through Christ Jesus that we have been made pure and holy, so if we must boast, boast only about the Lord.

Paul points out the wisdom of God seems foolish to people. We simply can not understand the ways of God.

Paul addresses his first problem within the church. Division over who people follow. Some say they follow Paul, others Apollos, and others Cephas. Paul rebukes them saying they should be following Christ.

Let's start a new season! Paul is about to address the church of Corinth, and with his opening, we see how he addresses a church in desperate need of correction. It's not with harshness but with love. Paul genuinely wishes the best for these people as he opens his letter with respect and well wishes.

As we wrap up Ephesians, it's time to prepare for battle. Now that we've been united with our brothers and sisters in Christ, it's time to put on the full armor of God and prepare for war.

Continuing with the household codes, Paul addresses children and slaves. He says children should obey their parents for it's the right thing to do, and all the parents said Amen! For slaves, Paul encourages them to not see themselves as working for people but rather working for the Lord and that whether they are free or slaves, God will reward them for the good that they do.

Now that we know what to do and what not to do it's time for Paul to talk about what our households should look like. He starts this section by addressing wives and husbands. This is in response to suspicions Romans had who thought Jews and Christians did not value their family values.

Wrapping up the section on Christian living and Paul reminds us the choice is to live as either the wise or the unwise. We either follow the flesh or the Spirit, and he encourages us not to follow the way of this life but instead follow the Spirit and give thanks to God for everything.

Paul continues to give us examples of what Christian living is and is not. Comparing us to light and darkness, Paul gives us a stark contrast of the difference of children of God.

Paul tells us to put off our old selves and put on our new selves, but what does that mean? What's our old self? Join me as we talk about what behavior Paul says we should put off.

Now that the church is unified, it's time to talk about how a unified church ought to live. Is it like the world around us gratifying every pleasure our hearts demand? No. We are called to righteousness and holiness as displayed through Jesus Christ, but this lifestyle doesn't happen by accident.

Christ gave us certain people to support the body of Christ. Often we look at the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors, and teachers as the superstars, but instead, the real superstar is you, the body of Christ who does the work of Christ himself.
