The Lord’s name is to be revered and treated with honor in the highest measure. Sadly, in our day, God’s name has been reduced to curse word and treated with contempt by many in our society. Considering the 3rd commandment, reminds us that daily, we should speak his name with the greatest care; showing respect and guarding our lips of irreverence. Grounded in the first commandment of God’s moral law, is the focus of having no other gods before the one, true living God. It goes without saying that in the abstract sense this is easily acceptable; but not always understood in practical terms. Our conversation today, centers around both angles of this important doctrine. PBHB GIVEAWAY: https://www.stayreformed.com/giveaway Additional References...

In Christianity, we often emphasize the benefits and pardon that we receive, due to Christ’s atoning work. This is certainly a good and helpful response. At the same time, we cannot over look the importance of speaking about the consequences of sin and the implications if one does not repent and turn to Christ. Today, we unpack this particular doctrine. PBHB GIVEAWAY: https://www.stayreformed.com/...

Many times, as Christians, we focus on the one time event of being pardoned of our sin; without thinking much about our union with Christ. Today, we spend some time looking to the benefits we receive from the Lord at the resurrection.
