A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.         Ephesians 6:10 We need to recognize the origin of pride Your heart was filled with pride because of all your beauty. Your wisdom was corrupted by your love of splendor.        Ezekiel 28:17 We need to recognize the organization o...

God’s Word Is Our Foundation All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.   2 Timothy 3:16-17 The Gospel Is Our Message For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the pow...

Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him—but some of them doubted! Then Jesus says: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey...

God did not create you to sit back; He built you to move forward.  Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him—but some of them doubted! Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the nam...

God Restores You So You Can Run Again Then the Lord told him, “Go back the same way you came, and travel to the wilderness of Damascus. When you arrive there, anoint Hazael to be king of Aram. Then anoint Jehu grandson of Nimshi to be king of Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat from the town of Abel-meholah to replace you as my prophet.” 1 king 19:15-16 God Interrupts Your Field So, Elijah we...

God meets you where you actually are not where you pretend to be  Spiritual Victories Don’t Make You Immune to Spiritual Battles When Ahab got home, he told Jezebel everything Elijah had done, including the way he had killed all the prophets of Baal. So Jezebel sent this message to Elijah: “May the gods strike me and even kill me if by this time tomorrow I have not killed you just as you killed th...

Elijah was a man with a nature just like ours.         James 5:17a I am tired of living torn between two worlds. Elijah comes near to all the people and says, “How long will you go limping between two different opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.” And the people did not answer him a word.     1 Kings 18:21 …And the people did not answer him a word.     1 Kings 1...

Grace received must become grace expressed! People Should Experience Jesus Before They Hear Your Opinions Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people.      Titus 3:1-2 Represent, don't react! Never Forget Who You Used to Be For...

But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine.               Titus 2:1 My Ordinary Routine Is My Primary Pulpit 2 Teach the older men to exercise self-control, to be worthy of respect, and to live wisely. They must have sound faith and be filled with love and patience.         Titus 2:2 3 Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be...

The Gospel isn’t just something we believe; it’s something people should be able to see. Titus 1:1-16 Private Integrity Precedes Public Influence 5 …to complete our work there and appoint elders in each town as I instructed you.  Titus 1:5 6 An elder must live a blameless life...      Titus 1:6a He must be faithful to his wife, and his children must be believers who don’t have a reputation for bei...

My heart naturally loves grace as a shield but demands justice as a sword. The word of the LORD came to Jonah a second time.     Jonah 3:1 Yet forty days and Nineveh will be overthrown.     Jonah 3:4b The people of Nineveh believed God.     Jonah 3:5 Who knows? God may turn and relent.      Jonah 3:9b But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was angry.     Jonah 4:1 I knew that you are a gracio...

God sometimes takes us to the bottom so we’ll discover He’s been holding us all along.  11 The sea was getting rougher and rougher. So they asked him, “What should we do to you to make the sea calm down for us?”12 “Pick me up and throw me into the sea,” he replied, “and it will become calm. I know that it is my fault that this great storm has come upon you.” 13 Instead, the men did their best to r...

If you run from God’s direction you will run into God’s correction. 1 Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it, for their evil has come up before me.”          Jonah 1:1-2 3 But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying...

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.      John 1:5 Who do you say that I am?       Matthew 16:15 I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.      John 8:12 This Week, Step Into Light When Light walks in, darkness walks out This Week, Decide Who You Say Jesus Is  When Light walks in darkness walks...

A Put Together Life with an Unbroken Heart Is Dangerous  9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like...

True strength is measured by what you sacrifice not what you control. (Slide attached) Wake Up and Stand Up Be watchful, stand firm in the faith… 1 Corinthians 16:13a A man who kneels before God can stand before anything. (Slide attached)  Grow Up with Courageous Maturity …act like men, be strong.       1 Corinthians 16:13b True strength is measured by what you sacrifice not what you control. (Sli...

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when...

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.          Romans 12:1-2   Worsh...

Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.     Luke 11:1 Prayer Is a Habit You Cultivate Not a Skill You Pick Up Overnight Once Jesus was in a certain place praying. As he finished, one of his disciples came to him and said, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” 2 Jesus said, “This is how you should pray: “Father, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom...

11  There is much more we would like to say about this, but it is difficult to explain, especially since you are spiritually dull and don’t seem to listen. Hebrews 5:11 12  For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food. Hebrews 5:12 13  For everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in th...

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.        Matthew 5:14-16 You Are a Light So Live with Purpose and Visib...

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!     2 Corinthians 5:17   Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own ima...

If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!    2 Corinthians 5:17.   You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”             Ephesians...

God Wants To Interrupt Your Life Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem.         Acts 9:1-2  Jesus Wants You To See Him for Who He Really Is As h...
