An identity takes shape through time. Some of it comes from our genes and a lot of it from our education and what we experience, who we want to and decide to become. And then, there are identities we design for our projects, our companies, our art. Let’s talk with people about how they became who they are now and how they impact the identities they play a part in expressing. Nesem Ertan is a creative strategist and a certified coach. She is Turkish and after 15 years of life in Paris, she is now back to Luxembourg where she grew up. In this podcast, she shares some of her “sticky thoughts” abo...

INTW 12. Promptography and the AI related conversations we need to be having - with Boris Eldagsen 05.12.2024

Boris is an explorer of the human condition, of the duality between our ego and our shadow. He is a teacher, a speaker, an artist and a former marketing professional who has experienced with visual art of all types. As a child, he used to love black and white monster movies like Frankenstein, and lately he spends most of his time interacting and cocreating black and white art with AI, pieces that...

INTW.11 - On becoming the creative director you want to be - with Erik Kockum 22.09.2024

I saw Erik on the stage of the Kik Festival in Namur a few years back, with his partner Freddie Öst. They are the co-founders of Snask - "a creative agency of misfit geniuses" as they call themselves on their website. Sure they were very fun, but most importantly, to me something underneath all the colorfulness and the talent felt very… real. And that’s exactly what Erik gave us in this interview:...

INTW.10 - “We need to fight for the things that make us human” Katie Vanhoutte 19.07.2024

Katie is head of strategy at FutureBrand. She grew up loving books, immersing herself in their imaginary worlds, becoming friends with their characters as she went through cultural changes between UK, US and France. Throughout this episode, we discuss with her the importance of truly and humbly listening when accompanying organizations in the definition of their culture and identity, while offerin...

ID N°6 - Harley, Patagonia, brands and communities 04.06.2024

How can we make sure the brands we work for have a positive impact on people and the planet? No single person can solve this equation, but here are some of my thoughts when it comes to brands' reason to be and the necessity of accepting their mortality when they are no longer needed by their community.

INTW.9 - “Birthing an era beyond the dominator model” Susan Coleman 04.06.2024

Did you know you could be a “peace builder”? Susan Coleman made that choice and worked all around the world, in conflict areas, for the UN, for Nasa... I’ve been listening to her “Peace Building Podcast” where she interviews incredible people who contribute to the same goal in diverse and complementary ways. One of my favorite episodes is with Thomas Hübl on healing collective trauma ;).In this ta...

ID N°5 - Memoirs, stand-up comedy, donating human insights 04.06.2024

Stand-up comedians telling their most awkward thoughts and memories on stage, authors of memoir or auto-biographies, each person sharing their truth... They are donating pieces of their journeys to save us time and energy, help us feel less lonely on this planet, in our bodies, in our stories.

ID N°4 - Brangelina, improv, reality-fiction 04.06.2024

It's easy to listen to someone's life story on social media or through entertainment channels and let ourselves believe that it's all based on facts. It doesn't mean it's not fun to be in the audience or amongst the writers. Maybe it's time we name this genre "reality fiction" to make sure we keep a healthy vision of what's at play ?

ID N°3 - Eckhart, Ru Paul, Hawking : muse-collecting 04.06.2024

My favorite thing in the world is to collect "muses" : people who've said or done something that expanded my horizons, made my world more abondant with possibilities. Warning: many muses are to be encountered in the interview episodes of this podcast ;)

INTW.4 - “Le livre d’Histoire, c’était elle.” Camille Gouy-Debas 04.06.2024

INTW.3 - “Everybody doesn’t think: I can be what I want to be” Dionne Maxwell 04.06.2024

I think it was two years ago. I was watching a round table conference to which Dionne Maxwell was participating. Every year, the ad industry needs new buzzwords, so the focus was moving away from green and more and more focusing on inclusion and diversity. Only one person stood out for me and it was Dionne’s impactful speech where she was giving it to us straight as should be : inclusion needed to...

ID N°2 - Amy, Avicii, Ayurveda 04.06.2024

What do these three A's have in common? The secret to artists' mental health and balance. In this short episode of ideas that stayed with me, I'm sharing how deeply moved I've been by the sad endings of so many musicians stories and my wish to make the creative industry better know the solutions offered by Ayurveda.

ID N°1 - Star Wars, Identity and Complexity 04.06.2024

I went to an exhibition called Star Wars Identities back in 2012 at the Cité du Cinéma in Paris. It became one of the reasons why I ended up studying coaching and cognitive behavioural therapies. Here is why !

INTW.1 - “Living life outside of the script” Kale M. Connor 04.06.2024

My friend Kale M. Connor is a freelance UX designer (whom I’ve worked with and first launched Worlds as a design studio some time ago :). They have been living, working and also studying architecture in Paris for the past couple of years. Together, we spoke about their childhood in the US, growing up in a house that was in the making, getting creative with their sisters and parents, but also about...

1. Why 04.06.2024

An identity is much more than a nationality, a job title, a social status. Once we integrate our life stories, it becomes a tool that we can design and get creative with. A few minutes to explain why I called the podcast Creative Identities.
