WKRP-Cast

WELCOME BACK! John Caravella has packed a lot of living into his 41 years. Our Dr. Fever seemingly doesn't do anything once. In addition to more than a half-dozen air names, he's had multiple wives, an unknowable number of jobs, a crazy amount of alcohol and several interactions with certain substances that have come back to haunt him ("do you see someone standing in the corner?") The thing Johnny...

WELCOME BACK! This is a unique, and very important, episode of WKRP. It addresses an actual, and at the time of air, very recent, incident in Cincinnati. The first half is very 'usual'...lots of laughs, Art in a goofy mask. It's fun. It does nothing to prepare us for what's about to happen. It was the same for concertgoers, parents and city leaders in Cincinnati. Leading up to it, The Who Concert...

WELCOME BACK! Sometimes you can't tell the heartbreakers. We know Les Nessman is a hard-driving newsman who's only in it for the story. He never tracked down a lead because he thought it might impress the ladies. His dedication to his work has impressed at least one lady. Her name is Darlene, and she has a crushing crush on our favorite intrepid reporter. Be careful Les, Darlene has the crazy eyes...

I'm introducing a brand new 'ultimate' podcast covering the first three seasons of the AppleTV series SILO. SILO has been the most requested series for me to do as an 'ultimate' title. I wasn't ready to take it on until I saw the incredible Season 3. I'...

WELCOME BACK! Detente with the Soviets means fact-finding missions and endless attempts at 'unity.' One of those many attempts has landed in the Queen City...Porkopolis...in the form of a Russian Hog Delegation. If beepers had been invented, Les' would be going off. Les storms the press conference with a vengeance. Bailey is his true secret weapon and he doesn't even realize it. The primary speake...

WELCOME BACK! Lucille is out of town for ten big days and "Huggable Herb" is on the loose! If you're not Jennifer Marlowe, this information will not affect you. If you ARE Jennifer Marlowe prepare for a blizzard of lewd propositions like you've never weathered before! Jennifer is horrified...she can't do ten days, she just CAN'T! Bailey, of all people, has a devious "battle of the sexes" type plan...

WELCOME BACK! There has to be a reason for Herb. Sure, Johnny is leaning towards some kind of failed government experiment, but the real answer can probably be found in his parenting. If only we could meet one of Herb's parents... Herb's Dad is waiting in the lobby and it's none other than BERT PARKS!! This is HUGE, Jennie-Poo! We've got the lowdown on how Bert happened to be on WKRP right in the...

WELCOME BACK! It's bring your little sister to work day! Well, not really...but it feels like it. Andy's been entertaining his kid sister, Carol who's been visiting Cincinnati for four days now. Kings Island is fun, but with your BROTHER? Maybe not. Andy realizes he's coming up short in the tour guide department. He decides to enlist the help of one of the smoothest and coolest ladies' men you'll...

WELCOME BACK! The Sports Voice of the Ohio Valley is...WKRP? Art's got stars in his eyes as he hires former Cincinnati Reds Manager Sparky Anderson to host his new sports-talk show. A full two hours and, at some point, the plan is to take it coast-to-coast! Syndication! Huge profits and the unending accolades of mama...er, at least that's how Art sees it.  Sparky is a great guy...but not a great t...

WELCOME BACK! Merry Christmas!! Stop looking at the calendar...it's Christmas in KRP-Land and that's all that matters. Remember how weirdly disorienting it was to come across a Christmas episode of a show in syndication?? It didn't matter if it was the middle of July...for half an hour, you got a little of the warmth of Christmas, no matter what time of year. This Christmas, the whole gang seems a...

WELCOME BACK! The entire news department at WKRP consists of a single man: Les Nessman. Truly, he is a paragon among men, a news stalwart who lets nothing deter him from delivering ten brilliant casts a day. Andy thinks it's time to shake things up a bit in the news area...against Les' wishes, and better judgement. They're reviewing audition tapes when a familiar voice comes through the speakers....

WELCOME BACK! Something big has arrived in the mail at WKRP...and it's not Art's new Model Ships Catalog. The 'BOOK' has arrived. It's the ratings book...and, we discover, the very FIRST book since Andy's been aboard. Hold on...he's only been there six months?? Seems like a year or more, doesn't it? The Mighty 'KRP is UP in the ratings...first time in seven years according to AC. He's ready to bre...

WELCOME BACK! Art "the Big Guy" Carlson has a big trip planned. He's going bonefishing and his lovely wife Carmen is coming along! Carmen shows up at the station with a little bit of a crimp in the plans. Turns out, she's pregnant. It might have been the Kiwanis Dance, but all signs are pointing towards Superman as the culprit. Mama shows up and things get a bit heavy when she lays out what she se...

WELCOME BACK! When you're on one of the lowest rated stations in town, it's easy to convince yourself nobody's listening. Johnny's eyes are opened when an off-hand comment about tossing some trash on the city hall steps blows up in everyone's face. How bad is it? Art has summoned the station attorney, Elgar Neece. Elgar is a 4'11" fireball played by Christian Seaborn and...hold onto your microphon...

WELCOME BACK! It's a natural progression for many business executives: once you've conquered the business world, it's time to conquer the world of politics. Arthur "Big Guy" Carlson of WKRP Radio in Cincinnati is one such business executive. Art's been bitten by the political bug! He's ready to steer Cincinnati in the right direction as an esteemed member of the Queen City's Council. Current incum...

WELCOME BACK! Jennifer is gorgeous, cool, aloof, in control and well-to-do.  Who could possibly rock her world? His name is "Steel" and, to hear her tell it, he's every girl's dream. It's not until we meet Mr. Night Maintenance  we discover he might be lacking in the depth department. Steel definitely has the teeth, the hair and the, uh...derriere...to drive the ladies wild, but the pretty package...

WELCOME BACK! You're probably asking yourself "am I planning for every eventuality?" What's that? You're NOT? You really should be talking to Herbert R. Tarlek, Esquire. WELCOME BACK! You know how some guys are funny when they're mad?? Hugh Wilson must be one of those guys. CBS was all over him during the first season of WKRP to write more "visual gags." Over on ABC, "Laverne & Shirley" was a hit doing a lot of slapstick. Hugh resisted...he fought it...he thought it was lowbrow. He said WKRP is smarter than that!! The Mighty KRP talks about the Archduke Ferdin...
