It's been a while since I've recorded! Since our last episode a lot has occurred--specifically a major win in Virginia concerning two schools in Shenandoah County. I talk about this and a few other things, plus tell you about the new books that have been flying on the shelf.

It's never a dull moment at Crossroads Country Store. I am continually encouraged by the sheer number of people from around the country that encourage our work here, but this past week someone didn't like what we had to say.

Herein is a more in-depth history on the iconic Robert E. Lee Monument that was removed from Richmon's Monument Avenue. There's been a recent threat to the UDC (United Daughters of the Confederacy) here in Virginia--they could lose their tax exempt status. Matt gives an update on the situation and what you can do about it.

The book A South-Side View of Slavery was published in 1854 by a prominent anti-slavery Massachusetts pastor Nehemiah Adams. His recorded observations were both accurate and contentious--refuting the radical abolitionist narrative of the day. Episode 4 gives a brief overview of this work, along with a talk on some of South Carolina's secession documents.
