From navigating the kids' first fall break and watching his daughter experience the awkward excitement of young relationships to reconnecting with family and returning to social media after years away, there's plenty to reflect on. Apparently, we have reached a point in society where commercials need to clarify that you cannot actually order Megan Fox. Naturally, I've got some thoughts about that. This week, I'm diving into the chaos of my daughter's first homecoming, awkward parenting moments, unexpected changes at work, and celebrating five years without a cigarette. I'm also sharing some exciting results f...

This week I’m wondering what the fuck a HoCo proposal is, whether individuality ever stood a chance against comparison, and what it’s like watching our kids grow up in a world where everything feels like it’s on display. I get into being an introvert, the occasional need for a good vent session, another weekend of soccer, and an outdoor Ashanti and Trey Songz concert featuring freezing temperature...

This week on True Reviewz & Interviewz, I’m back with another trip through work, life, fatherhood, entertainment, and whatever else has been occupying space in my head. I talk about the anxiety that comes with conducting workplace site assessments and my ongoing challenge of presenting correction as an opportunity for improvement rather than evidence of failure. I recap a packed week outside o...

Episode 267 marks another week of trying to figure out what deserves to become content when damn near every interaction makes me think there's something worth talking about. I recap my work week, including my first community council meeting and why I believe transparency matters when organizations enter new neighborhoods—not just selling the mission and good intentions, but acknowledging the v...

The Wheelbarrow Lives On TJ checks in at 227.8 pounds and looks ahead to an upcoming conversation with Gilbert Rios III about the weight-loss journey that has taken him from around 400 pounds to where he is today. Then things get appropriately scattered: a packed family weekend, soccer, the fair, raising teenagers, teaching his daughter the magic of vinyl, the absurd horror of missing garbage day,...

Episode 265 is all over the place in the best way. TJ checks in on getting his health and routine back on track after a busy end to summer, talks parenting, school pictures, changing school hours, work and the unexpectedly frustrating process of trying to record the Hometown Hero audiobook. On the entertainment side, there’s talk of Oz, Wasteman, early thoughts on The Whisper Man, Andy Ruiz, Katie...

The return episode is out of the way. Now it's time to get back to work. This week, I'm settling back into a regular routine after vacation and talking about everything from work and social awkwardness to stand-up comedy, movies, television, creativity, and AI. I get into attending a community event for work and doing what I do best — sitting awkwardly by myself until someone finally came...

After nearly three years away, True Reviewz & Interviewz is back. In Ep. 263, I sit down behind the mic for the first time since October 2023 to talk about where I've been, and what's changed along the way. From losing my podcast equipment and most of my favorite possessions in a garage fire, to major changes in my career, family, health and perspective on life. There's a lot to ca...
