As we dive eyebrows first into the spring of 2025, we wanted to share a brief note of zest and gratitude with our beloved community.

Emerging from the dark, we sit down and chop it up with Susan Walsh, a founding patron of The Yard and dear friend. We hope you find this account of Susan's journey as invigorating as we did!

JP Reilly is a Manhattan Beach native, former USA and Stanford athlete, and current graduate student in AI and Machine learning. He is also a mentor and advocate for young Type-1 Diabetics, and proud member of the Yard community.

Manhattan Beach native Mason O'Hanlon stopped by HQ and shared with us many different experiences that have shaped his life. Mason was a standout collegiate athlete, is a proven entrepreneur, and has an unrivaled work ethic. Enjoy!

Over the past 14 years, Marc Lucero has emerged as one of the preeminent coaches for budding stars. He worked for the USTA from 2008-2012, coaching players of all ages, from 7 year olds to professional players. In his role at the USTA, Lucero worked and assisted with America’s top young prospects like Nicole Gibbs, Ryan Harrison, Sam Querrey, and others. He also ran Regional Training Center camps...

We sat down with South Bay local and Stanford student-athlete Kate Reilly and picked her brain on topics ranging from favorite hobbies to deepest fears. Thank you for your time, Kate!

A South Bay native, Jordan Raney attended Mira Costa High School and lettered for four years in water polo. Jordan went on to play water polo at Stanford University, and was a 2-time National Champion, 4-time All-American, and 4-time All-Academic student-athlete. As a key member of the USA Water Polo program, Jordan has represented the United States since 2011, winning gold at the World University...

John Walsh. A seven-time Emmy award-winning producer and director. John is currently directing the World Champion Milwaukee Bucks and the first-place Milwaukee Brewers. Originally from the Ocean State (Rhode Island), he resides in Wisconsin with his wife and four children. A loyal disciple of The Yard, John's message is one of inspiration and motivation.

Meet Johnny Byrne. He is currently training for an IronMan to raise funds for research into Down Syndrome Disintegrative Disorder—something his younger brother is experiencing. He is in his final year at UC Berkeley and has an eclectic set of interests. Enjoy!
