The Night Train®

Dread it, run from it, but a weird show always arrives all the same and now it’s here. Show 350 for your listening pleasure. Regular listeners will love or hate it when we hit these shows. To be honest, we kinda feel the same. It’s tough to put together and it’s tough to listen to at times. Still, we’ve got a format and we’ve gone too far to change course now. Some highlights this week enjoy a bit...

This week, we remembered that we had a couple of guest mixes in the chamber, so instead of letting them languish in Google Drive, we thought it best to share it with you! For 30 minutes around our usual nonsense, there’s a killer guest mix from Thomas Shore. The other 90 mins are exactly what you’ve come to know and love from TNT… Remember, you can join us live (almost) every Sunday 9pm-11pm on Sh...

What a show! Back in the studio with tales, tunes and possibly our danciest set ever. If that doesn’t tempt you to press play, then we’re not sure what else we can do. Remember, you can join us live (almost) every Sunday 9pm-11pm on SheffieldLive! 93.2fm, via the TuneIn Radio App or www.sheffieldlive.org Get in touch with requests, recommendations and guest mix inquiries! https://www.instagram.com...

Afternoon folks. There was a show on Sunday, but honestly, it wasn't great. We were trying out the new decks in the studio and there were a few technical issues. Those that tuned in live got to enjoy/endure it but for the listen-again crew, you missed out. So we're not leaving you with nothing this week, thought we'd delve into the archives for another show where we spun 45s. This one is from 2016...

Howdy folks. Not had a lotta time this week to sort the upload so apologies for the short show bio. It was a bit of a different show this week, Powlo was fresh from the Phonetics party the previous night so came to the studio to play a little bit o' what he played that night. Normally, he'd have sacked off the solo show but due to our stupid plans, we wanted the big bank holiday show to be one whe...

Evenin’ all. Last night’s show, uploaded for your listening pleasure. There were a couple of terrible technical problems (lazy production) in the show which have been ironed out so those who didn’t tune in live will be spared. You’re welcome. This week we pepper the show with a bunch of Irish songs to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. There’s also some new cuts and some other stuff that you may or may n...

Rather embarrassingly we’ve not done a special for International Women’s Day for a while. Well, time to put that right in 2024. We really should do it each year. If someone could hold us to that, that’ll be great. Remember, you can join us live (almost) every Sunday 9pm-11pm on SheffieldLive! 93.2fm, via the TuneIn Radio App or www.sheffieldlive.org Get in touch with requests, recommendations and...

We had to be on our best behavior for this show as we had another guest mix! It’s another one from over the pond, an all-wax mix by Phonic Underground of Latin Scorchers There’s also tales of our Saturday night and a bit of an ambient set to close out the show in honor of 30 years of Aphex Twin’s Selected Ambient Works II  Remember, you can join us live (almost) every Sunday 9pm-11pm on Sheff...

The question is, do we only get one listener asking where the upload is or do we only have one listener? It’s late on Thursday but here’s Sunday’s show. Featuring multiple mentions of other radio shows and a load of music that we’ve been listening to. Remember, you can join us live (almost) every Sunday 9pm-11pm on SheffieldLive! 93.2fm, via the TuneIn Radio App or www.sheffieldlive.org Get in tou...

Sometimes, there are things we can fix in post. Sometimes, things are so bad there is no coming back. There are moments in this edition of TNT that are some of our worst for a while. Don’t let that put you off though, some say the show is best when it’s hanging on by a thread. Remember, you can join us live (almost) every Sunday 9pm-11pm on SheffieldLive! 93.2fm, via the TuneIn Radio App or www.sh...

Press play. Hear music. Hear about our weekend. Hear one of us hitting the mark. Hear the other one sign-up to do something before May. Hear some Dilla beds. Hear some other stuff. Remember, you can join us live (almost) every Sunday 9pm-11pm on SheffieldLive! 93.2fm, via the TuneIn Radio App or  www.sheffieldlive.org Get in touch with requests, recommendations and guest mix inquiries! https:...

In theory, we could upload the show for yous lot on a Sunday night/Monday morning. The thing is, to be honest, we can’t be bothered. We’d prefer to procrastinate on it and then upload it at some point in the week. Like now. Anyway, here’s the show. It’s good. Pretty sure we always say that though. If you think it’s decent, tell a friend or leave a review on Apple Podcasts. That’d be really helpful...

Howdy folks. Back again for another show and it’s a doozy. Our first guest mix of the year! It’s from the mind of R.SEILIOG, which is the alias of musician/producer Robin Edwards. We’re big fans of his work and he’s been generous enough to give us not one, but TWO guest mixes. The other should come later in the year. Hold tight for that one. If you like what you hear, join us live (almost) every S...

Another week, another daft idea for a show... This week, it's the inaugural Small Records edition of The Night Train. From now on (or until we forget) every show that ends in a 7, we'll be playing 45s. It seemed like a good idea at the time. So for this edition, to kick things off in style, we dusted off the records we played at Singles Night, played a Daptone and affiliates set and then went back...

HNY everyone! It’s been a few weeks, we’ve missed you. The show this week is a theme that if you know Steve, he will have forced you to play at some point. Alphabet Disco. The “rules” are explained in the show so we won’t waste your time on explaining them here. Press play and enjoy 26 songs. We hopefully back next week with another 45s show. If you like what you hear, join us live (almost) every...

You know the drill. It's the end of the year so we get to show off the records we purchased. Don't expect many new jams, just great music. This year, it's all on 45s. We're taking next week off (it's Christmas Eve) and the week after (it's NYE) but don't worry, we will be sending in something to go out live on those two Sundays. Both of them perfect soundtracks to whatever you're doing! As always,...

As we felt bad leaving you so long waiting for last week’s show, we’ve pulled out all the stops to get this one uploaded, pronto. It’s just the two of us, no guest mix. There’s a lot of 45 chat. Apologies if that doesn’t interest you. The good news is that next week is the last “Live” show of the year. We’re not doing a show on Christmas Day or NYE. We’re not that tragic. We will leave you with a...

Apologies everyone! We forgot that we hadn’t uploaded Sunday’s show for you. What’s even more worrying is that nobody from the Catch-Up Crew messaged to say “oi, where’s our show?”. So, here it is. A few days late but not a dollar short. Also, this show has a guest mix as well. ManLikeChez takes over the show for 30 mins of UKG. If you like what you hear, join us live (almost) every Sunday 9pm-11p...

A normal show this week. In which we play a few long songs, talk about some records that were purchased, teased a big announcement and a plan was “hatched” for the next theme show. If you like what you hear, join us live (almost) every Sunday 9pm-11pm on SheffieldLive! 93.2fm, via the TuneIn Radio App or www.sheffieldlive.org Get in touch with requests, recommendations and guest mix inquiries! htt...

Listen. It’s been a tough week. Other stuff has been gettin’ in the way of the upload. It’s here now, so don’t worry. To be honest, we can’t be mad at you lot for “demanding” the show quicker after a Sunday as that means you’re up to date on shows. The only way to get it hotter is tune in live (almost) every Sunday 9pm-11pm on SheffieldLive! 93.2fm, via the TuneIn Radio App or www.sheffieldlive.or...

You demanded it, so here it is. A show from the archive. Back this weekend for more nonsense. -------- To celebrate half a decade in community broadcasting, we've pushed the boat out for a very special TNT. This show has it all, we've really pushed the boundaries of broadcasting* Remember! You can also get in touch to ask for request or shout-out at; nighttrain93.2[at]gmail[dot]com or https://www....

In a suprise to everyone, especially ourselves, we've managed to make it to 8 years on the radio. Are we better than when we started? Of course. Are we actually good? Debatable. The plan for this show was to bring some records that we had in our boxes from DJing at Hagglers on Friday and play them. In theory, this was to make life easier for ourselves If you like what you hear, join us live (almos...

So, this week we have a guest mix. We’re saying it like that as we both forgot we had it. So there’s no hype for it and it just kinda drops outta nowhere. Even more confusing as it’s us that puts the show together. Classic TNT. If you like what you hear, join us live (almost) every Sunday 9pm-11pm on SheffieldLive! 93.2fm, via the TuneIn Radio App or www.sheffieldlive.org Get in touch with request...

For three nights and days (and four more) we’ve sailed the seas since we last spoke, we’re back in the saddle primed and ready to go with another edition of everyone’s favourite late-night show on community radio in Sheffield! Plenty of show notes this week, which means we were waffling a lot more nonsense than normal. If you like what you hear, join us live (almost) every Sunday 9pm-11pm on Sheff...
