In the 1990's, a military doctor found himself serving in one of the most remote outposts on Earth: McMurdo Station, Antarctica. It would be during his 11-month stint that the doctor's worldview would be shattered by a stupefying series of disclosures involving colossal kaiju, international intrigue, mad science, black budget genetic atrocities, archaic abominations and—as if it could get any wors...

To some, Antarctica is a pristine, windswept landscape filled with austere beauty. For others—especially those unlucky enough to stumble across its indigenous inhabitants—the continent at the bottom of the world is a frigid, Lovecraftian hellscape filled with baffling behemoths and flesh eating fiends so malefic they defy the imagination.  The Cryptonaut Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/cr...

In what has got to be one of the most bats**t crazy paranormal encounters on the books, a woman was relaxing in her Northern California home when she claimed to have encountered a bevy of increasingly bizarre beings, all of which coalesced into a whirlpool of metaphysical madness representing what may well be one of the last great paranormal vortexes in the United States. In the decades preceding the 20th century, the murky depths of the lakes, rivers and swamps of Australia and New Zealand seemed to be infested with an array of abysmal—and extremely aggressive—unknown animals; moist monstrosities which have forever etched themselves on the global psyche. On an impulsive excursion into the Mexican wilds, three teenagers would confront not only deadly snakes and the ominous prospect of being lost in the woods after dark, but something much more insidious; an armada of UAP and a small army of glow-in-the-dark entities who seemed hellbent on bringing them down.    The Cryptonaut Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/cryptonautpodcast   The Cryptona...

A Kentucky man spots a terrifying "Glimmer Man" near a lake rumored to hide a monster. In rural Illinois, a childhood game is interrupted by a grotesque, clawed creature that vanishes into thin air. And in Poland, a man sees a headless, metallic humanoid lounging in a former mass grave site. Something unnatural lurking just out of sight. From Yogi, Smoky, Paddington and Winnie the Pooh to Baloo, Fozzi, the Berenstain Bears not to mention the Magic Kingdom's own Country Bear Jamboree, pop culture is littered with examples of talking bears. But, fanciful though these characters they may be, there are genuine reports of humans interacting with an uncanny array of these hyper-intelligent carnivores… who, beneath their teeth, claws and...

In the mid-60s, an Oregon family was thrust into a supernatural gauntlet involving UAPs, dazzling indoor light shows, cycloptic beasts, dancing aliens, a smoking dome, possible poltergeist, an ominous (and evidently bulletproof) shadow stalker and—to cap it all off—a pack of spider-like tree stumps roaming the wilds of the Pacific Northwest. In fact, this onslaught of metaphysical mayhem got so in...

In 1986, a boy named Greg endured a night of hellish torment at the hands of a sinister, giggling shadow child, who—while under the watchful eye of its pernicious parent—tortured its human counterpart in what was evidently a diabolical twist on the time honored tradition of "bring your kid to work day". In the mid-50s a pair of Finnish brothers had a terrifying, all too close encounter with a speeding saucer. While the boys were both scared by this near miss, for one of them—Osmo Liene — his ordeal was just beginning as just days later, at the stroke of midnight, a trio of aged aliens would invade his home to interrogate him... and reveal something that no one should ever know. In most children, the dread of bedtime stems from equal combination of FOMO and a fear of the dark. But for some kids, and even a few you adults, that fear is founded on all too real experiences with anomalous and sometimes highly aggressive entities that's prove—beyond the shadow of a doubt—that humankind's millennia long fear of the dark is not unfounded. Of all the bizarre claims made about the arid patch of government owned Nevada desert known as Area-51, among the strangest—and most disturbing—has got to be the alleged escape of a highly predatorial, non-human prisoner and its horrifying encounter with an unsuspecting family who had the bad luck of running into this vile vermin while camping   in the high desert. In 2009 a spate of sightings involving a massive, multi-winged monstrosity held Mexico's municipality of Guerrero in a thrall of fear. Puerto Rico's legendarily monster infested El Yunque National park has been the site of an amazing array of truly terrifying (and potentially lethal) paranormal phenomena. But few of these cases can compare to an event that took place in 1981, that involved a turbine powered UFO, tiny pilots, a smoke-show Nordic doctor and a pair of anesthetic spraying, touchy-feely chupacabras; all of which would...

Of all the logic defying antics that have allegedly occurred between human beings and E.T.s, few are more perplexing than those involving food of unearthly origin. These alien appetizers are sometimes offered in good faith and other times exist only to incapacitate unsuspecting earthlings. But whether the motivations of these inexplicable entities are insidious or altruistic, one thing is abundant...

There are few opponents more cunning, insidious or dangerous than the individual we see every single day staring back at us from within a mirror. Spanning some 5,600-miles from east to west and 2,800-miles from north to south, Russia is a sprawling land mass that boasts a near unfathomable 2.8-million lakes. Bearing this in mind it should come as no surprise that the former Soviet Union is not only infested with lake monsters, but that those on offer are some of the craziest cryptids on the books. Near the end of the Vietnam War a battle hardened team of American Marines were sent on a covert mission into the dense jungles of the DMZ in order to ambush a communist convoy.
