Manchester United played a solid game against a tough Aston Villa team, and showed they do have style, and NO, they are not boring. What? Did every Man U. hating pundit get the same talking points FAX? Man U. are in desperate need for a more balanced offense with a servicable right winger though. There is too much going to the left side and the current right winger crop are a work in progress. Str...

Manchester City has been "Pep Guardiolized": Its all about physicality. But everyone wants to talk about tactics. Man. City are good because they play with overwhelming physicality. Not tactics. They play to take your heart out. Chelsea was the latest victim, first game on the 2024 Premiere League season. Copyright 2024 Peter DeMac. Written by Peter Demac. Street Play Soccer Podcast 2024.1

Manchester United cannot function without Bruno Fernandes in the center of the field. Want to know why Manchester United lost? Bruno Fernandes was nowhere to be seen in the center of the field.  The Streetplay Soccer Podcast is hosted by Peter deMac. Music by Peter deMac.

Raheem Sterling played outstanding. He is a left winger with a dominant right foot and can shoot with the left foot. But wait, Enzo made it happen. Why do I say this? Enzo played like a midfielder which is why the coach Pochettino is working magic to build a balanced team.   Street Play Soccer Podcast is produced, written and narrated by Peter deMac. Manchester United is a one-trick pony show. It's go left to Rashford and if stopped, keep trying anyway. Then replace Rashford and try with Granacho. No midfield soccer, no give-and-go, and no short one-touch play.  Take a listen to why Man U cannot score goals.  Episode written by Pete DeMac Music by Pete De Mac Copyright 2023 The StreetPlay Soccer Podcast

The USA soccer team played their hearts out but they walked into a tactical trap set by the Netherlands soccer team. Too much vertical soccer is not the be all of how to play soccer.  Music: "Shadow Warriors" by Coma Svensson; and "Wolves With Fangs of Steel" (Instrumental Version) by Dissidence, courtesy of Epidemicsound.com The Streetplay soccer podcast is written and produced by Peter deMac.

My fantasy soccer world has been destroyed. Soccer is escapism and I don't want to hear about the problems of these heroes that play in my fantasy realm.  Music: "Shadow Warriors" by Coma Svensson; and "Wolves With Fangs of Steel" (Instrumental Version) by Dissidence, courtesy of Epidemicsound.com Street Play soccer podcast is written and hosted by Pete deMac

Episode 13 of the Street Play soccer podcast. I'm your host Peter deMac. Italy forgot its toughness of the Italy of old and chose to play the new kind of soccer: you know, the pass, soft soccer that looks good in the stat. sheet with time of possession and all that, but does nothing for you in a do or die game.    Music: "Shadow Warriors" by Coma Svensson; and "Wolves With Fangs of Steel" (Instrum...

Episode 11. The PSG vs Real Madrid game.  PSG is soft because they practice soft and which means they play soft. You saw it too. Don’t go telling me you didn’t or that it didn’t matter for those that did. Want me to name names? Ok I will. I get into how Man U lost to an underwhelming Wolverhampton side. The 4x2x2x2 player formation of the new Manchester United coach Ralf Rangnick opened up the field to such an extent that it hurt more than it helped.  Episode 10. Flamengo, the soccer giant of Brazil has a hired yet another foreign coach in the name of the Portuguese, Paulo Sousa. The fate of Brazilian born coaches looks like has been sealed; they are not being viewed as tactically astute as the foreign coaches. Remember when Brazilian coaches were the rock stars of world soccer?  In episode 9, I get into the soap opera that led to the Paulo Sousa hire.

Was it me or did Man U play like mad men against Chelsea? Where was this effort versus Watford? Were the Man U players playing like they were trying out for the new interim coach Rangnick? And what about Chelsea? They played one dimensional with no interest in doing what they needed to do which was go wide to the wings.    Music: "Shadow Warriors" by Coma Svensson; and "Wolves With Fangs of Steel"...

In episode 6, I get into the Manchester City vs. PSG champions league game. I saw a Man City bullying an all-star playground team whose best tactics was counter attacking. PSG need some humility. You have to earn it. And for Man City, wouldn't Cristiano fit on the left side of the team like a glove. I'm the writer and creator of the show, Peter de Mac. Manchester United players dont have responsibility. They could not handle the pressure thrown at them. An improbable game with weird turn of events. Watford played great and did what all teams know how to beat Man United: Pressure them. But what to do if you are United? I say shore up the midfield because you have to play with what you have until the end of the season. I'm talking about giving up...
