Spoil Me

Thank you to Yama for commissioning this episode! This chapter is the one in which our crew that's still on the Yaldiv's planet put on their costumes and infiltrate the main hive to get closer to the Hesper. None of this goes the way I expected all, and it turns out that the King knows that they're there, and that they aren't working for the Lone One. What?! I truly can't imagine how this continue...

Thank you very much to Jacqui for commissioning this episode! Brando Sando wrote what I think a short story although it's not that short, so perhaps it technically qualifies as a novella. It's a really enthralling story so far, and I'm a little sad that there's only one more episode's worth of coverage. However, this gives me a bit of a peek into the other universes that I haven't seen in my cover...

Thank you so much to Patricia for commissioning this episode! This chapter is a really high-octane for this series, with an actual shoot-out that happens in the apparently abandoned Crossings. Not only that, but we get a rescue from someone that I was definitely not expecting to show up here. And it is AWESOME. Thanks so much for listening!

Thank you so much to Candace for commissioning this episode! This is the second Makota Shinkai film that Candace has commissioned, and apparently he's working on a third one that I'm hoping to get to cover eventually. I have to admit tho, this film didn't work for me nearly as well at Your Name because the ending felt like it didn't really know what it wanted to be. Shinkai made some statements ab...

Thank you ever so much to Joyce for commissioning this episode, and especially for commissioning me and RoShawn to cover it together. I will let this episode speak for itself. Enjoy!

Thank you to Patricia for commissioning this episode! This chapter is the one that has made me the most nervous so far. We are finding out that a whole planet is populated by beings that are not JUST overshadowed, but are literal avatars of the Lone Power. I honestly don't even know what to do with this information. Also, there's the whole thing with Nita's father being totally MIA (not to mention...

Thank you so very much to Heather for commissioning this episode! I'm delighted that we're getting into some really unexpected territory here, but also I was so unprepared for this shit to actually WORK that now I'm a little bit freaked out. I mean, Elgen Spears can be an evil genius all he wants when he's just TRYING to do something...but him SUCCEEDING? No, I don't like that at all. This is wher...

Thank you very much to Yama for commissioning this episode! In these chapters, we get to a really freaky destination that makes Nita feel so disturbed and upset that she's physically nauseous, which I deeply do not care for. Meanwhile, Dairine is going back to the original location of her ordeal and her creation of an alien robot race, and honestly it's pretty heartwarming. My heart is warmed. Tha...

Thank you to Heather for commissioning this episode! It's been a bit since the last episode covering Evolve, and we've moved along into some NEW POVs this time around. I'm very much into seeing Jordan through Brian's eyes, and I'm shocked at how insecure he is about her. I can understand it of course, but I didn't expect it based on the way he behaves around her. Which I guess is actually impressi...

Thank you to Patricia for commissioning this episode! This chapter is one where I start to get truly anxious in a way that doesn't feel totally safe. First of all, there's the fact that time is working against them and things are passing way faster on earth, which I can't imagine means anything good for us no matter where they happen to be. Then there's the fact that Nita's father is all cryptic a...

Thank you so much to George for commissioning this episode! It's the last section of the booooook! Nooooooo! That's all I have to say.

Thank you Patricia for commissioning this episode! So in these chapters our friends split up into two teams, and Nita & Co. go to the Crossings and meet Skerrit's ancestor, while Dairine & Roshaun go to his home and she gets to meet the family. Both are very illuminating in their own ways, because Skerrit and Roshaun are each so clearly influenced by familial expectations and obligations. Thank yo...

Thank you ever so much to George for commissioning this episode! This is the penultimate episode of coverage of the Elder Empire series (so far at least) and I'm so sad about it. I really loved this pair of books, and I'm really enjoying getting to see the same story through two very different pairs of eyes. This leads to discovering things like what kind of potential Meia is working with, and tha...

Thank you to Yama for commissioning this episode! So in these chapters, after getting the absolute worst news imaginable, our team is joined by an old flame, in more ways than one! Get it!? Because he's basically inhabited by a holy fire of goodness? Also, there's a whole thing with Carmela starting to get into both Ronan and wizardry, and while Ronan is essentially on the table (albeit with some...

Thank you to Patricia for commissioning this episode! Patricia I'm sorry that I credited Yama, I was looking at the wrong day! In this chapter (and a bit) we get more details on what the absolute crisis is that we're dealing with here, and turns out that basically there is dark matter out there multiplying and warping space, warping time, warping people's perspectives and priorities, and warping w...

Thanks ever so much to George for commissioning this episode! HURRAY! I'm finally able to continue on my journey through the Elder Empire, and we get to see how Calder's conversation with Jyrine winds up going now that he knows that she's part of a secret cult that worships the Elders. Not only that, but he asks some very important questions, and he does NOT like the answer he gets. Thanks for lis...

Thank you ever so much to Yama for commissioning this episode! Well this book is coming out swinging for the fences immediately, huh? We start very nearly exactly where we left off in the last book, and turns out that there's a whole OTHER conversation that was happening between Tom and their dad in the last book! It had nothing to even do with the whole Sun thing at all! And we're getting one of...

Thank you so much to Ashleigh for commissioning this episode! This is the final episode covering Raybearer, which makes me really sad. I loved this book, and the final section deserved a lot more time, but page counts can be a real bitch to figure out. I hope that I still manage to do a decent job! I really encourage you, if you're reading this entry but haven't picked up this book, to get on it A...

Thank you to Patricia for commissioning this episode! The final chapters here are kind of anti-climactic in some ways, if I'm honest. The whole sort-of confrontation with the sun is taken acre of off-page by Roshaun, and I'm still not particularly impressed with him. I find it kind of odd how that went, TBH. At least what's going on RE: Alaalu is more compelling, because the Lone One gets foiled b...

Thank you to Ashleigh for commissioning this episode! These chapters are the ones in which Tarasai begins to come into her own and find her power. She and Sanjeet make it to a mysterious woman who has a ton of Tutsu, AKA fairies, living all over her property. I am really loving this transition for her, and I can't wait to see where she heads after this. Thanks for listening, and I will see you soo...

Thank you to Heather for commissioning this episode! This chapter we meet Jason Blackwell for the first time, and I don't know who he is to this story or how important a role he will play in the plot, but apparently he's having quite an effect on Jordan and so he intrigues me. Meanwhile, Jill is off with Ryan and they're learning a lot about one another and their powers, plus brainstorming some an...

Thank you to Ashleigh for commissioning this episode! These chapters are the ones in which we get to see what the dangers are in the bush, and turns out that shit is no fucking joke. I don't know when I'm going to learn that this author is not here to play. Throughout all of this, there's the overlaying sadness of Sanjeet pulling back from Tarasai, and man that keeps breaking my heart. Thank you a...

Thank you to Heather for commissioning this episode! In these chapters, the most notable thing IMO is the death of Governor Theresa Gregory. Listen, the woman is no great loss to humanity, as we know from getting to see inside her mind and get a glimpse of her plans...but damn did she make an effective target for Aftermath. I hope you all are enjoying the coverage, and I will see you soon with a n...

Thank you to Patricia for commissioning this episode! This is the chapter where Nita and Kit go to visit the Lone One, and it is living in a pretty awesome looking temple while being gawked at by the locals, none of whom seem to take it seriously or be scared at all. Nita manages to box the Lone One into a pretty specific promise, and I'm super curious how this is going to work out for it. Thank y...

Thank you to Ashleigh for commissioning this episode! These chapters are so hard, y'all. The whole thing, from start to finish, is an absolute loss of hopes and ideals and innocence that Tarasai was somehow still clinging to despite everything she's already gone through. Not only are her dreams of justice very nearly mocked and certainly dismissed, but her mother finds a way to reactivate her Ehru...
