This episode features an interview with filmmaker, Steven Adam Renkovish. Adam's been churning out regional DIY horror films that feel as cerebral as they are evocative over the past decade. With his latest short, The Strange Disappearance of Emily Jayne, he's now leaned into something more autumnal, nostalgic and queer, as he's recently come out as gay and found empowerment in creating a spooky H...

This episode features an interview with BC-based filmmaker, Joshua Gratton. His new film, Platypus, is a hazy lo-fi slasher that is as gorgeous as it is esoteric, a bonafide 'murderdrone' masterpiece that just had its premiere at Fantastic Fest. What is murderdrone? Well, you've got to dive in to find out! This episode is for the real slasher aficionados, as we touch on some of the most obscure ti...

His most recent film, I Was A Teenage Gargoyle, takes the horror antics a step further,...

This episode contains an interview with horror filmmaker Carrsan T. Morrissey. Based out of Iowa with her own unique approach, half-informed by Gaspar Noé, the other from classic cosmic horror a la Lovecraft. The melding of the old and the new are just one of many assets in Carrsan's artillery, as can be seen in her recent shorts, Bleeders, Of the Flesh, and Conqueror Worm, as well as her debut fe...

Warning: This interview contains discussions about suicide, graphic violence, and other potentially triggering and upsetting content. This episode features an interview with indie horror filmmaker, Robbie Smith. Robbie's most recent offering, I Don't Like It Here, dropped exclusively on Screambox just a few weeks ago and also dropped on my head like an anvil coated in nightmare fuel. The way it sw...

This episode I've got Australian filmmaker Lachlan Saille on to chat about his latest film, Albatross. While he might be on horror-heads radar for his restoration work, including New Wave Video's release of the lost 8mm Japanese horror flick, Nighty Night, his own films are a different beas...

Welcome to Season 4! Our first guest is Toronto-based filmmaker, Kalil Haddad, whose He Never Dies cycle of short films has been bursting brains with their acidic mix of queer themes and transgressive provocations. Often employing techniques of collage to a kaleidoscopic degree, Haddad mines the past with images of vintage gay erotica, morbid reality, and wistful nostalgia. It's a lot to chew on w...

This final episode of Season 3 features an interview with Lucky Cerruti, a NY-based indie horror director whose newest film, Boxcutter, is one doozy of an ambitious feature. We delve into the traumas that inspired the script, his directorial...

This episode features long-time friend of the show, Fred Barrett! Fred is a writer based out of Germany with some of the most fascinating film analysis and he's come on to wax off about Abel Ferrara. Fred and I cove...
