We've made it to Season 13 of SlashU. As we begin our 6th year of the podcast we jumped back to 1990 to take a look at "Blood Games." This one did not follow the traditional slasher formula. It's more like "A League of Their Own" meets "Deliverance" or "Rambo." When a team of female baseball players beats a team of redneck sore losers, they end up on the run through the forest fighting for their l...

This week we bring you another installment of our annual Shark Week departure from the typical cheesy, campy, sometimes forgotten slasher movies. This one is from 2014 and it's a straight-up short film stretched with tons of B-roll to make it long enough. It's "90210 Shark Attack" from 2014. From 2017, we bring you "Killer Campout" this week. The movie is set in 1989, although that part doesn't matter at all; this could've been set in 2017 or 1964, it didn't matter. But a sadistic, cannibalistic killer with a big sharp shield fresh from the Renaissance Faire begins killing and eating t...

Original Air Date: 5/3/2022 This week on "Held Back" we're inviting you to re-visit our class on "Hatchet 2" from 2013. The "Hatchet" series is a favorite here at SlashU and we constantly reference director Adam Green as a staple in revitalizing the 80s-style over-the-top campiness of the kills and his use of practical effects. Join us as we walk down memory lane back to Honey Island Swamp for mor...

Original Air Date: 3/21/2022 This week on the "Held Back" edition of SlashU we invite you to re-take our class on 1980's "Deadline."
