RAF473: Kessler Mountain Regional Park 09.07.2026

We're just going to walk around. The last time I was here on the first aborted run, it was a lot colder, and I was less inclined to just kind of cruise around here. RAF471: Tumbleweeds on the Trail 25.06.2026

It's all about living long and loving life. That's what it's about. I'm hoping to go for two hours today. Two hours. Yeah, like I said, it's very windy today. I think the gusts are up to 45 miles an hour....

RAF464: Lake Atalanta in the Snow 18.05.2026

So, you know, there's actually a duck out there somewhere because I hear him. I, you know, I wanted to come out here, but didn't know if it would be safe, but it looks like it's gonna be pretty safe. At least right here, what I've seen so far, I have, there's at least a small path to go through. There's some ice on the trail, sometimes covering half of it or maybe more. I don't know if you can see it. Pompongo hand warmers that I have actually reviewed and did an unboxing on. and I'm going to see how long they last today and how warm they are, but they're keeping my hands kind of warm so far. I don't know if there's another more creative way to use them to keep the rest of my body warm, but I'm doing okay so far. Read the full post at http://RunningAFEVER.com/463...

RAF461: Heels Healed 07.05.2026

It is a beautiful day at Lake Fayetteville, but it's raining. And it was raining pretty heavily early this morning, and now it's, I guess you could call this light rain. But it's still steadily coming down. Call this light rain, it's not, eh, maybe not light, certainly not heavy, somewhere in between. Read the full post at http://RunningAFEVER.com/461

RAF459: Dean's Trail in a Foot of Snow - Springdale Arkansas 30.04.2026

Weather department. According to Alexa, we received between 8 and 12 inches between Friday night and Saturday night, with an expected additional 2 inches today. Although the way things are going, it kind of looks like it may be more than that, but it's early in the day. So we're looking at at least 10 inches, possibly 14. RAF457: Factor_ be Gone! 25.04.2026

Should probably have a factor meal tonight because I've got probably ten of them in my freezer. I'm gonna get four more on Sunday. That's another thing, it's, I mean, granted, I did sign up for the six meals, but I thought it was six meals every two weeks when I first signed up. The minimum is four. RAF456: Factor Meals Unboxing, Chow Down and Review 21.04.2026

You get to pick your meals, and so it's not just a random group. They do have defaults, though, so if you don't choose anything. And there's a huge block of ice, of course, that's keeping it cold. And that takes a while to melt, I can tell you. Green chili chicken. I'm going to try this in a minute. Honey butter, honey. Butter chicken breast. Read the full post at http://RunningAFEVER.com/456

RAF453: Trail of Tears Part 3 - Old Wire Road - Pea Ridge National Park 07.04.2026

The 1830 Indian Removal Act required that the Cherokee Nation surrender ancestral lands and move west. In 1838, more than 16,000 Cherokee Nation citizens began their trek west from their traditional eastern homeland to Indian Territory (present-day Oklahoma) along the Trail of Tears. They traveled by existing roads and rivers. Many groups left in the fall, hoping to avoid the disease and heat of s...

Tsa-La-Gi Trail, of course, is part of the Trail of Tears that I talked about in a previous episode. RAF451: The Trail of Tears 31.03.2026

Have you ever heard of the Trail of Tears? I've mentioned it a few times on the show, mainly because I see signs for it all around here. And the phrase is popular in the media. There are two state parks, a band, 3 albums, and 8 songs titled "Trail of Tears". Apparently, this part of the country was right in its path. But I never really knew exactly what it was about, except vaguely that it had som...

RAF450: Living to 100 and Beyond - Oldest Men Ever - 2026 28.03.2026

You know, we've been doing an annual episode on the ten longest-lived people ever for several years now, but it's always been just women. Men can't even make it into the top 25. In this episode, we're setting the girls aside for once and giving the boys a chance. Why do women live longer than men? I found a number of factors. And if you're listening, check out the video or the blog to see an infog...

RAF449: New Attitude 24.03.2026

My goal is to live a long, healthy, happy, active life right up to the very end, all about living long and loving life, and that's what I'm trying to do today. Starting off at the marina at Lake Fayetteville, I'm going to get a couple of beautiful winter shots of the lake. It's a rather brisk little wind, so the water's kind of choppy. It's very cold. The car said 25 degrees. However, the car has...
