Matthew 13:24-43 Truths from these parables: Christ's kingdom is a long game, patient agricultural endeavor. Christ's kingdom permits righteous and wicked to coexist until the harvest. Christ's kingdom grows slowly, silently, and often imperceptibly. Christ's kingdom pervades thoroughly and will triumph ultimately.

Matthew 13:1-23 The Word of God is the seed to be sown. The privilege of having the Word brings opportunity and responsibility -- to hear and to sow. The soil of the human heart will determine if there is any fruit. a. The hard soil of the hard heart. b. The rocky soil of the shallow heart. c. The thorny soil of the choked heart. d. The good seed-- the heart that hears the word and understands it.

Joshua 12:1 – 13:7 It is important for us to count our blessings and celebrate what God has done. We can celebrate what God has done, while recognizing there's work that yet remains. God's full work may be beyond our limits, but that doesn't mean there isn't work for us to do.

Joshua 11:1-23 What does it look like to faithfully depend on God? It means faithfully obeying. It means faithfully persevering. It means faithfully passing down. It means faithfully facing down our fears.

Joshua 10:1-43 Truths illustrated in this passage: God keeps us as we faithfully keep our commitments. God fights for us as we courageously fight our battles. God answers us as we boldly pray according to His promises.

Joshua 9:1-27 Takeaways from this passage: Godly counsel should be sought in every important decision. We need to live faithfully even in the midst of our unwise decisions. Outsiders are invited to join God's kingdom -- not as lowly subjects -- but as full sons and daughters.

Joshua 8:1-35 Main Theme from this passage: The Lord's Word drives everything. What does it mean for our lives to be driven by God's Word? It means it will drive our plans. It means our trust and faithful obedience. It means our reflection and recomittment.

Joshua 6:1-27 What does it mean to put faithfulness first? It means recognizing that insurmountable obstacles call for extraordinary help. It means consistently engaging in the warfare of worship. It means trusting and obeying God's instructions even when (humanly speaking) they don't make sense.

Joshua 5:1-15 What God has done for us at the cross: God rolls away our enemies power. God rolls away our shame. God rolls away our punishment. God rolls away our distance.

Joshua 4:1-24 Continual reminders of God's mighty deeds train us to revere God. Continual reminders of God's mighty deeds guard our unity. Continual reminders of God's mighty deeds prompt us to celebrate the word of his Exalted One. Continual reminders of God's mighty deeds help us teach the next generation(s).
