Raglan History

In 1925 the Te Uku Post Office was built - and without TV to keep people at home dances were a regular occurrence, even breaking out following the community meeting where the national election results were counted.

The birth of Eva Rickard and the first footbridge to Papahua were headline events for 1925, although not necessarily at the time. There were far too many car crashes on the deviation but people did like to travel fast on the fantastic new metal roads.
