New To Weeaboo

Episode 132 is here! It's October, which means it's time for spooks and scares! And why not go with The Junji Ito Collection to start off? Well... because it's just kind of okay. Being an anthology, there are definitely stand out stories, but also a number of duds. Regardless you can check it out on Crunchyroll ! A bit of a content warning as well, this anime contains blood, gore, body horror, and...

Welcome to episode 131! We watched the classic FLCL! And it's incredibly absurd. But in the best ways. Plus there's that soundtrack. Not really sure what else to say. Check it out however you can! Time for episode 130! We watched the recent anime Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night! And it has a lot of strong points. But it's also letdown by a few weaker elements, including a lackluster ending. Episode 129 is here! And we watched the legendary movie Akira! A movie which every animator loves to the point of wanting to homage it in all their works. And well, it is visually stunning. Welcome to episode 128! We're finally getting around to the new (summer 2024) anime season! And once again, the RNG demands blood. Or something, because we got some less than ideal picks. Time for episode 127! We returned to Hibike! Euphonium with the OVA and season 3. In which it's Kumiko's and Reina's third year of high school, and also their last chance to get gold at nationals with the Kitauji High School band. Even with the potential complication of a new euphonium player. Plus, there's still a bit of yuri bait. Check it out on  Crunchyroll . "Dimension" by Creo and "Devotion"...

Episode 126 is here! And we went back to a franchise we haven't really talked about since 2019... talking about Raildex! Episode 123 is here! We watched WataMote. It's a cringe comedy. Which, as the genre suggests, can be difficult to watch. It has its moments, but sometimes Tomoko's behavior is incredibly frustrating. Time for episode 118! Nemesis finally got a Transformers anime on this podcast. Specifically, Car Robots! And it's a very goofy show. And the nice thing about it is that it doesn't require watching other shows beforehand. Or after. Of course, if you do want to watch it, well... it's not available for streaming in the US (neither is its dub Robots in Disguise). "Dimension" by Creo and "Devotion" by...

Episode 117 is here! We talked about fairly recent movie, Suzume! And while it's made by the same people as Your Name, it doesn't really hit the same highs. Welcome to episode 116! The first anime season of 2024 has started and we got a handful to take a look at. And, well, the selection wasn't great, to say the least. "Dimension" by Creo and "Devotion" by Jim Hall are licensed under CC BY 4.0 ( https://creativecommons.o...

It's a new season, so time for new anime! It's the Fall, specifically, and we watched the first three episodes of four anime. And they have that weird thing where they're all pretty different, but also have a few things in common with one another. But we have a birdman! A guy with way too many soulmates! A woman who may be a bit too genre savvy! And a girl who's absolutely in love with the villain...

Time for episode 108! We watched Parasyte -the maxim-! It wasn't quite what we were expecting, but it managed to entertain. However, we did find some faults with it, including a weirdly shoehorned message. And some odd music choices. Check it out on Crunchyroll !
