In The City, In The Fields

I happened upon this parade going down 5th Avenue. The chanting, drumming and rhythms really cheered me up. I liked how there was relative silence in the parades wake, and then the city sounds slid back in to the mix.

Crickets, cars, wind and what else? Recorded just as the birds were going to sleep.

Recording before dawn, thank you time shift, was a peaceful sound. You can also hear the low thrum of air conditioners. Might catch an owl as well.

It is September and I have been hearing the crickets a lot, but finally had a peaceful night to make the recording. I hope you enjoy it.

I woke up early to the sound of rain and just parked my microphones by my front door and went back to bed. You can hear a few birds and the passing cars. I hope you find it peaceful.

Recorded in West Kingstown, Rhode Island on Liberty Road near the Great Swamp. Peepers and all the other critters came out. It got pretty loud after a while. The sound of the evening Amtrak Trains pulling into Kingstown Station add a little excitement.

Recorded on MixPre 10ii with AKG C414 XLS Matched Pair from 5:30-7ish. The sound of the barking dog is strange, but it's an old dog and has a lot on its mind.

Recorded Oct. 10th 2020 from a lakeside home in Ithaca, New York. Listen to the wind coming off Cayuga Lake move through the leaves on the trees. Sounds of crickets, birds and a single tolling windbell (Cosanti Bells) create the backdrop for a peaceful autumn night.

Recording was made at Ninigret Park, in Charlestown, Rhode Island. It was a mild, peaceful evening. Recording made on Sept. 5th 2020.

The sound of waves hitting the rocks on a perfect August evening. You can faintly hear the thrumming of a fishing boat returning to Galilee. This rock formation, located at the end of Hazard Ave, is a popular spot for people to gather and was the original location of St. Peter's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church.
