This week we continue our 80s dance trilogy of episodes (!!!) as Paul, Mark, Kieran and I discuss the film 'Footloose'. Along the way we discuss potato rated trauma, talk about the Michael Cimino version of this film, the 'fatness' of Fat Cowboy, a fictional Party of Five revival, the decline of NCP Car Parks and obviously, I make a food-based comparison to the film.

In this episode Kieran, Mark and I kick off our 80s dance trilogy of episodes (!!!) with a conversation about iconic period drama, 'Dirty Dancing'. Expect references to watermelon, corners and having the time of your life.

In this episode Kieran and I discuss the iconic Johnny B. Goode scene from Robert Zemeckis' 'Back to the Future'. This episode originally aired on the sister podcast to ERRP, the SpielbergPod, coming out in 2025, just after this film's 40th birthday.

Opinions differ and unlikely companion pieces are given this week as Paul, Mark, Kieran and I continue our James Bond coverage- and wrap up the tenure of Timothy Dalton- with a discussion on 'Licence to Kill'.

This week Kieran, Mark and I pick back up with our Bond coverage by discussing the non-Eon James Bond film 'Never Say Never Again'. Now, eagle-eared listeners may note there is a 'technical issue' with the audio for the first two and a half minutes of this episode, but at that point it gets addressed.... 

In this, our 100th 1980s episode of Easy Riders Raging Podcast, I take the opportunity not just to break down what I think are the key aspects of the Martin Scorsese masterpiece 'Raging Bull' (it's autobiographic nature for the director, examination of brotherhood, etc.) but I also take the time to reflect on the history of the podcast.

This week on the podcast Kieran and I discuss Bill Forsyth's 'Local Hero', a film neither of us had seen before, and one which divided the two of us. Along the way we talk quirky vs irksome, Kieran savages 'Asteroid City' and raves about 'Bait', my punk rock youth (or lack thereof), and we compare this film to 'Kraven the Hunter'.

In this episode Kieran and I talk about Sergio Leone's gangster epic, 'Once Upon a Time in America'. A long old film giving us much to discuss, both positive and negative. (Expect comparisons to 'Goodfellas' and 'The Godfather' from the outset)

This week it's another return to the archives from my original podcast, the SpielbergPod, with an episode recorded back in back in 2021. It sees Kieran and I exploring the world of television directed by Steven Spielberg with a discussion on the two episodes of Amazing Stories that he directed: 'Ghost Train' and 'The Mission'.

This week Kieran, Paul and I tackle a solid gold classic from the 1980s. Yep, we're here to talk about Paul Verhoeven's satirical vision of the future of law enforcement. Part man. Part machine. All policeman. It's 1987's 'RoboCop'.

In this solo episode , recorded right at the end of 2024 , I talk about the iconic 'North by Northwest' crop - duster attack sequence , from Roger Thornhill ' s arrival on the bus to the explosion of the oil truck .

Today on the podcast, Kieran and I discuss the Barry Levinson drama-comedy 'Good Morning, Vietnam'. We also spend time discussing the career of the film's star, Robin Williams, as well as other Vietnam War set films / war films in general.

This week Paul and Kieran sit down to discuss the Michael Mann film 'Manhunter', and with that comes conversation on the remake of this, 'Red Dragon', as well as the other Hannibal Lecktor films (such as 'Silence of the Lambs'), the brillaint Bryan Fueller show Hannibal as well as the books from Thomas Harris.

Yet more festive fun today on the podcast as Kieran, Paul and I discuss the Frank Capra Christmas classic, 'It's a Wonderful Life'. And get this - it's their first-time watching this.

This week Paul and I embrace the festive season by discussing 1980s Christmas film, 'Santa Claus: The Movie'.

This week Paul, Kieran and I get in the Christmas mood... by discussing a Thanksgiving film. And that film just happens to be the fantastic John Hughes comedy, 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles'.

In this episode, which I believe was recorded around this time last year, Kieran and I- both longtime fans of the show, The Simpsons- sat down to discuss the first episode of the long-running show (as well as our early interactions with the TV phenomenon), 'Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire'.
