Draw Knives : A Top Chef Recap Podcast

Our hosts are joined by  @carly.sue.bear to recap the final episode of the season. Our three finalists cook the 4 course meal that will define their fate on Top Chef all while trying to impress a prestigious judging panel including culinary icon Emeril Lagasse. They all make appearances in this recap! In the penultimate episode of the season, one chef finally wins a Quickfire and some cash, while the Elimination Challenge has the chefs creating a multi-course menu together with very mixed results. The first half of the finale starts now!

Last episode in Wisconsin! We discover one chef tongue scrapes (and maybe it's an advantage?!) and another chef continues their dominance. The time away from home is getting to some of these chefs. This week's ep is a doozy. The LCK winner returns. The chefs have 24 questions to ask Tom about a dish he made for Kristen and Gail for the Quickfire. The Elimination challenge has the chefs plating their entire dish on a table for the judges to eat directly off of. A season favorite ends up packing their knives for a bad table of food, but they remain in our podcast hosts' hearts forever.

This week the chefs enjoyed two of Wisconsin's food traditions: meat raffles and fish boils. And if that wasn't enough, they had to do the latter with Art Smith and former Top Chef contestants among the judges. One competitor cuts themselves, while another gets sent home for an uncharacteristically unfocused dish. And then our hosts recap the two part LCK finale and reveal the winner.

A high reward two part Quickfire awaits our chefs in the Top Chef kitchen this week, along with three time runner-up chef Bryan Voltaggio. The Elimination challenge features a lot of sausage and eliminates a chef for committing a cardinal gaffe: cooking risotto. LCK finds one early favorite in the competition eliminated for a tactical misfire. This episode is fully loaded! 

Dessert and chaos dominate this episode of Top Chef. Guest judges Christina Tosi and Matty Matheson inspire the contestants this week, while an early favorite gets sent packing.

Unusual sauces and a supper club challenge are at the heart of this Top Chef episode. Another team challenge shows one chef to have high emotional intelligence, while another chef gaining a reputation for selfish behavior. This season is heating up!

No Quickfire? No problem! Chefs take a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright houses and get inspired. The chefs are put into pairs to create dishes that deal with the theme of duality. Worst team goes home. A double elimination! Chefs Buddha Lo and Dominique Crenn guest judge. And host/chef Kristen Kish starts making the show her own.

Our cheftestants this week work with cherries and unique ingredients in the Quickfire and then try their hand at Wisconsin's favorite product CHEESE in the Elimination Challenge. Our hosts break it all down and give us an update on their fantasy teams.

Second week is a doozy. The chefs are cooking with hops and bar snacks this week and some surprising things happen along the way. One of the world's best chefs comes to guest judge and even offers her restaurant to be the stage that our cheftestants compete.

Street food starts off this episode of Top Chef. But it's the first ever Mis En Place Elimination Challenge that takes up this very dense episode. Ever want a forced movie promotion tie in to a franchise that makes no obvious sense? This episode is for you! An early favorite was sent home but gets a chance to redeem themselves via LCK.

This week features a Quickfire based on emojis that leads to something being lost in translation. The Elimination Challenge has the chefs coming up with dishes that have deeper meaning as well as edible without utensils. A surprising elimination leads a certain chef back to LCK to enjoy the uphill battle back into the main competition.

The last two LCK chefs battle in this week's Quickfire to get back into the main competition. And as with many challenges with so much on the line, the cook is complicated and fraught as we say goodbye to an early favorite.
