Doppelgängers: A Vampire Diaries Podcast

The Necromancer gets his own episode this week and he definitely took what he could get and ran with it! Despite Alaric’s many attempts he reaches an impasse, and Hope jumps in to help. Unfortunately her “help” s tunnel vision, ignoring red flags, and ultimately losing the day. MG tries to help her, but instead gets stuck repeating patterns from a a certain Salvatore brother. Meanwhile we get anot...

This week, a monster hits a little too close to home for the Saltzmans. And on such a special day … Josie and Lizzie’s Sweet 16, which the whole school celebrates with the fervor of a senior prom. We start to see some couples worth shipping (MG and Lizzie, Penelope and Josie), while Rafael gets pawned off on Hope. Grace and Stephanie go hard on Rafael, and debate the true meaning of “Monster of th...

It’s a busy week where we finally get some answers, but don’t worry we still have plenty of time for supernatural school baloney. This week, that is an election for an Honor Council, where vote results hurt quite a few feelings. People are whipping votes, backstabbing, and even just starting fights. The newly elected students (and one who just joined without running) make a substantial decision at...

Salvatore students (and Landon) go undercover to solve a mystery - missing Mystic Falls students. Instead, they split up and turn on each other, especially when the culprit seems to be all too familiar. But they forget the goofy show they are on! Hope beefs with Lizzie and Landon. MG and Kaleb’s different philosophies cause tensions to boil over. Meanwhile, at the Salvatore School, Rafael beefs wi...

After the football drama and black magic last week, the Salvatore School students are in trouble! As punishment, many of our characters have to head to Mystic Falls to do community service. Of course the day is complicated by Mystic Falls High bullies, MG’s “plan” to make Lizzie jealous, and Kaleb’s secret activities. Meanwhile Landon and Rafael are living in the woods and making money by jumping...

It’s a major week at the Salvatore School - the week of the annual flag football game! Lizzie leads the team in a roller coaster of a game, and we even get to meet some local bullies. Meanwhile, Hope and Rafael join Alaric in search of Landon and the knife, and instead, they encounter our very first monster of the week! And our second one lurks closer than we expect ... Remember to rate, review, a...

We made it to Legacies! And yeah, this is not a serious show. We meet quite the cast of characters at the Salvatore School, including our dear Saltzman twins, a dweeb, and a new student who is hand in hand with a familiar face. We get some really insight into Hope and how this school succeeds, and doesn’t, in making these kids well-adjusted. With plenty of fun moments, new ships, and a new mystica...

It’s time for everyone favorite special episode, the character draft! Who will go first? Who will go last? Will there be an upset? Who will we pick that will make you say “really? them?”? It’s both fun and incredibly serious to us, despite this meaning absolutely nothing in the real world. Remember to rate, review, and share, brothers! We finished The Originals :( It’s time to break down our favorite (and least favorite) moments, rank Mikaelsons and villains, and discuss its place in the TVD universe! Remember to rate, review, and share, brothers! Follow us on Instagram and TikTok @doppelgangerspodcast!

It’s finale time! And we do have notes… well one main note that we repeat constantly! With Klaus closer to death than ever, how can the Mikaelsons get out of this one? Will we get the endgames we want? Will anyone get a happy ending? Will Vincent agree to be a sperm donor - wait, where the hell did that come from? Finally, will we see a satisfying finale to the story of the Mikaelsons? Remember to...

Hope’s first transition is upon us, and also, possibly her death. So what are the Mikaelsons to do? What they do best: bother the citizens of Mystic Falls and spin off! We visit the Salvatore School and meet other potential Legacies characters, while we check in with Alaric and Caroline. We seem to inch toward Klaroline endgame, but Klaus’s impending possible death looms. We take a quick trip to p...

We made it to a Freelin wedding baby!! Unfortunately given how weddings tend to end on this show we are a bit scared but let’s practice gratitude! We spend plenty of time with another ship meal so good we be forgetting what tf died. Meanwhile, turns out the scary gray veins and bad vibes in Hope may actually have a lasting effect. Finally, Josh (who in our minds remains alive no matter what the sh...

Daniel Gillies directs this jam-packed episode, and the end is feeling nearer. Queenicide takes two victims, including a character that felt so safe from death that Grace literally forgot it happened. We start to explore the afterlife more than ever before, with Vincent messing with the Ancestral Plane and a sighting of an old friend at peace. Hope captures and tortures Roman to satiate The Hollow...

The vampire nazis are at it again, and this time trying to hide behind Marcel logic, making Marcel face some of his less kind moments. Elijah goes to bother Declan at Rousseau’s, giving Declan one of his worst, most confusing days ever. Hope faces the consequences of the Hollow, but at least she gets to take out some anger on Elijah and gives a chance for Klaus to kind of kill it in fatherhood. An...

Well well well, if it isn’t another chambre de chasse… The Mikaelons are no strangers to a classic chambre de chasse, but this one is particularly tricky, because a) Elijah’s memories are still gone, and b) it was designed by a couple familiar masterminds. Luckliy, they are assisted by the brain power of Marcel and, shockingly enough, Kol! The Hollow’s power is released from the Mikaelsons, and El...

Well last week sucked. And to make it worse, the funeral has all manner of trouble ranging from forgetting to invite people to basically a terrorist attack. Klaus gets bit of revenge on Antionette, making Elijah finally ready to fix his memory mistake. But not everyone is ready for that red door to open. And Vincent and Marcel are, of course, just excited to make Elijah suffer. Ivy discovers anoth...

We’re only human, of course we joined the Off Campus craze! It’s fun, it’s sexy, and we have opinions! Plus Grace is our resident book expert because trust she’s reading just about anything. Spoilers abound for the show and books!! Proceed with caution!! Remember

What to even say about this episode …. It is everything that makes TVDU incredible, from an iconic ship to a devastating character death, all with an unexpected family member reveal in between. This episode made us sick to our stomachs!!! Remember to rate, review, and share, brothers! Follow us on Instagram and TikTok @doppelgangerspodcast!

After identifying the real enemies, Klaus decides to escalate his attempts to bring Hayley home. When Greta is taken to the dungeon, she offers a solution to get Hayley back - but not everyone is ready to make that deal. Freya goes to Mystic Falls to check on Hope, but that is derailed when Hope wants to save her mom and Klaus wants to save the whole family. We go back to when Klaus first met thes...

With Hayley still missing, Klaus takes a hostage from each faction to put a pep in their search efforts, while also identifying the guilty faction. Really puts a damper on Mardi Gras float building! Meanwhile, Freya heads to Mystic Falls to warn Hope she might be a danger to the world, and also get gossip on Hope’s new crush Roman (who we do not trust yet). The stakes of Haley’s kidnapping are rai...

Well… this is certainly an episode! We see what Elijah has been up to since he made the dumbest decision of his life, just to see that erasing his memories was actually the dumbest decision of his like SO FAR. He heads to one of the literally 4 cities he is not allowed to be in, and learns he is not the only vampire on earth after meeting a girlfriend. She has a secretive family and odd way of lif...

Following Hayley’s disappearance and Rebekah’s rejection, Klaus and Marcel return to New Orleans. Klaus reluctantly reunites with Hope, and the damage to their relationship is palpable. Even worse, there’s a weird untrustworthy dude from the Salvatore School at the compound! We are introduced to the beautiful new seer Ivy who, guess what, thinks Hope is dangerous. Meanwhile, vampires and werewolve...

Seven years later and New Orleans is finally at peace! But everyone can feel the winds of change coming in, at least partly thanks to Hope who is now a teenager. She kicks off the season with a truly bad choice, but hey, whatever gets your deadbeat dad’s attention. Elijah is indeed off in France with his memories gone, but that definitely did not work to keep the siblings separate because, duh. Bu...

It’s finale time and time for Vincent to reveal his unpopular plan, and he was right to be worried about how the Mikaelsons took that news. And he does try his hand at the strategy we suggested last time: lying! The Hollow tries to begin her reign with an old friend by her side, but, as it often does, hubris rears its ugly head. As the team gets ready to defeat the Hollow, everyone feels a pressur...

The Hollow has her claws in Hope and she does not want to let go! The Hollow tries her best to act like a normal 7 year old girl, but she simply does not have the capacity for empathy to give a performance than convinces anyone for more than five minutes. And even worse for her, the one and only Vincent Griffith is back this week, book in hand, ready to beat her down - with a little help from her...
